The last time I got cancelled by a passenger, it was more than 5 mins to PUP. I did not get any compensation. And CRAP customer service is an ass.
*
More than 5 mins but if longer than 10 mins (from Grab ETA), the cancellation fees will not kick in. Refer example below:

https://www.soyacincau.com/2019/03/22/grab-...ion-fee-policy/

“Say you book a ride and we matched you with a driver at 12pm with your ETA at 12.03pm. You can still cancel your booking without incurring the penalty fee from 12pm to 12.05pm. That’s a big window.

“If you continue waiting and your driver does not show up after 12.13pm, which is 10 minutes after your 12.03pm ETA, you can cancel without incurring any cancellation fee. In this scenario, you will only be charged if you cancel between 12.05pm and 12.13pm,” Rashid further explained.

QUOTE(Intimidated @ Apr 6 2019, 12:08 AM)
That’s the point, isn’t it?

If all drivers are driving as usual, then supply can meet demand, normal fare all around.

Now, because some drivers are not driving, supply drops, maybe just enough to cause surge demand all day for those who are driving.

Driver’s problem is always that there are too many drivers around. If Grab release tools for drivers to self organise (like heat map of driver concentration vs count of trip request in an area), then some drivers will always avoid areas with too many drivers, evenly distributing the supply.

Those on strike today won’t hurt Grab, but it does help those that drives, because fare goes up due to “artificially” lowered supply. Maybe all drivers should organise like this, determine collectively one group off mom tues then another group wed thu

Maybe then Grab will revise base fare to entice drivers to drive more, to meet the demand
*
Actually no need to do anything.
Come 12 Jul, there will be a huge dropout of part time drivers.

I just called CS and they told me that yesterday evening Grab has SMS all their drivers on the details of obtaining the PSV licence. I did not receive such SMS. Did you guys receive it?  I search the Grab webpage but couldn't find such details. I'm a new driver so I'm not sure whether drivers have a separate webpage. Pls assist.

Damn I baru kena 4 grabshare ping in one journey.

First ping pickup jalan pantai prima to kota raya. Rm8. 2 banglas.

Before reach 1st rider pickup, 2nd ping masok. Kl gateway mall to some rumah nearby intermark. Rm13. 1 lady mat salleh.

After pickup 2nd rider(already 3 person + me inside car now), another ping masok wei, kl gateway lrt to Azman Hasim UTM. Rm 15. 1 middle east student. When I reached he immediately say how come 3 ppl inside, then I say I'm just a driver and its the system do the matching. Then say he will cancel since he is rushing. Lol good logic, rushing = order grabshare

After dropoff those 2 banglas at kota raya, I immediately navigate to the lady mat salleh destination, but then another ping masok wei.

Pick up at some hotel at masjid jamek to sentul. Rm8. 1 indian lady.

Then I notice that i can turn off availability and turn off my availability immediately, all passenger masam muka already haha.

Whole trip since start till end took about about 1h10m for rm29. For sure rating will drop tomorrow. Aiyo

This is trully Grabshare best matching story ever.
Should write to grab, maybe they will interview and publish this story. Marketing. Haha. thumbsup.gif

I drove after 6pm yesterday. High fare but little or no TBB.

One of the jobs - about 7km, RM21, and it's a Grabshare job.
No TBB though...
*
Grab no longer giving out TBB generously.
Mostly high fare being included already into the fare which is borned by the passenger.

This is an in app feature for grab to confirm user by using face recognition, user need to take their own selfie and summit immediately when the app request so. and driver still unable to see rider face in the job card.
*
Yup this should be the correct way.
If not grab gonna lose whole chunk of foreigners such as ma pren, bangla, arab, etc if the drivers allow to see the passenger face before deciding to take or not to take the job. As i assume majority here would agree that many problematic trips would be from those group of passengers.

QUOTE(heyamazingpeople @ May 26 2019, 10:38 PM)
I have some questions,
How does the button works for the driver to press that he has arrived at the pick up location.
how does this button work?
I have a case the driver pressed that he has arrived but he is actually 8 mins away from pick up point. In the chat, he says please wait and there is traffic and he is on the way.
As i suspect the driver might be able to take advantage of the cancelling fee (think this was discussed somewhere in lowyat forum), so i just took a few pictures of the Grab booking screen with the background location showing that i have been waiting at the pick up location.

So it really turn out the the trip is cancelled, as the rider (that is me) didn't show up at the pick up location.
I am wondering, did the driver cancel it or this is auto cancelled?

Anyway I have submitted a feedback to Grab and waiting for reply.

driver doesnt want to complete the job, but not willing sacrifices his cancel rate.

so he just wait 5min n cancel can get free RM3 n wont get punishment.

outdated tricks. usually when i book n i see driver not moving. i will msg him : do u want me to call 1300 88 6688? they direct cancel  tongue.gif
*
The cancellation charges will not kick in. Coz the driver did not arrive at the pick up point.
Yes, he can press "I've arrived", but Grab GPS will still detect the driver located far away and will prompt another confirmation message "Are you sure". If the driver click on "Yes", then after 5 mins or forever, the passenger no show option will not be available. Even if eventually the driver made it to the pick up point, will be useless also. Coz the cancellation option will not be available. This is a feature being in place by Grab to prevent driver from gaming and earn those cheap RM3 cancellation fees.

The driver cancellation rate will increase in your scenario.

Important: E-Hailing Regulations. Expect Longer Waiting Times

From 12 July 2019, new regulations will come into effect for the e-hailing industry. This potentially means fewer drivers on the road and increased waiting times.

Since the regulatory process was formalised in April 2019, Grab and over 200,000 Grab driver-partners have been working hard to meet those requirements. Efforts include helping driver-partners cover the expenses incurred (inclusive of training, medical checks, vehicle inspections and PSV licenses). Grab is also working closely with the Ministry of Transport, JPJ, APAD and Puspakom to help all existing and future Grab drivers meet regulations quickly.

We understand that this might be frustrating, and we suggest pre-planning your travels during this period by doing the following:

Book earlier than usual: Book your ride earlier and be ready when the driver arrives, especially if you have a flight to catch or need to get to an important meeting.

Ride during non-peak hours: Getting a ride is much easier outside the peak hours of 7-9am and 5-8pm.

We hope this situation will be temporary, and will continue to keep you updated. You may experience some inconvenience at first, but these changes are to ensure consistent quality across the e-hailing industry in the long run.

Sincerely,

Grab Malaysia
