Precisely. If you have a group of taxi drivers near you, they get priority ping, then filter RM5 so those small fares go to you, sitting still at your spot will not improve your chance of big fare

I love the momentum of driving AA B2B. Big fare, small fare, I sapu. I believe all my odds are better if I’m always on the move. Driving out at 8am, by 4pm I’ll get RM300 gross. Worst also at least got RM200.

Yeah yeah I know sure got HG drivers from ancient time say wah gross 300 in 8 hours not as good as last time leh. So go find your jobs and flip your burgers, or become activist to improve ehailing industry, instead of just whining what most people already know

My opinion and feedback remains the same: drivers that choose to stay after regulation will have easier time to make more money, simply because, got a lot current drivers not willing to go through regulation, or just simply can't.

I'm sad to read in this thread that, to some of you, the biggest hurdle is the PSV test. Never for once I thought literacy will be the road block.

I assumed most drivers will drop out because they can't fork out the money for insurance, etc. I'm really sorry to those having to take the tests so many times.

As for AA, well, it really depends on your risk tolerance and understanding of statistic. You can't always get what you want. So to me, the "trick" is understand and accept that, some days, the luck is really shit, and I get stuck in traffic during ride for RM5 job. I'll make sure to complain to Grab the fare is low, and get something back in form of TBB.

But overall, it all evens out. Just like putting money into stock market. Most drivers here behave like day traders. Market volatile a bit, will run around screaming it's the end of the world.

So if you are the type that can't accept the idea that not every day is perfect, yeah, better to just filter away RM5 jobs at peak hour. Don't have to waste energy worrying or thinking about it.

It has been a while since I drive during off peak hours. One thing I like about AA is it is less stressful - I don't need to look at the job info and make quick decision while I am driving.

I would say accept first. If really cannot tahan press the Cancel button. But make sure to keep the CR in check.

The so called "complain" is feedback for trip, select "fare too low". Not calling to their CS and scold them. If enough drivers do this, they will review to see if you are earning less than the projected amount for the trip

Peak hours is usually like that. First job need to wait. After that non-stop, if you are on b2b.

But if you toggle to unavailable when ferrying riders, and only change back to available after drop-off, need to wait again.

PETALING JAYA: E-hailing drivers are calling for a reform of the Public Service Vehicle (PSV) licence, and hope the government will extend the July 12 deadline for them to get the commercial licence.

Grab Drivers Malaysia Association president Arif Asyraf Ali said less than 10% of 200,000 drivers for the e-hailing service are now PSV-ready, and cited factors such as steep fees and difficult tests as problems faced by them.

He said the government should extend the deadline by six more months.

He claimed that many drivers found it difficult to pass the PSV test, adding that they were given questions which are irrelevant to the e-hailing industry.

“I heard from my colleague that about 100 drivers went to sit for the test, and all them failed.

“Books are not allowed and the only language used is in Bahasa,” he told reporters today, adding that many drivers could not read or write in Malay.

He said disabled drivers were also not briefed about the application process.

“We do not know if the driving institutes will provide adequate facilities to assist them or whether they have to undergo the same process like others.”

The government had said it would not extend the July 12 deadline for e-hailing drivers to undergo the PSV driving course, which is also a requirement for conventional taxi drivers.

Holders of the PSV licence, which costs RM115 annually, are allowed to drive any type of commercial vehicles to carry paying passengers, such as taxis and buses.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for another e-hailing operator Dacsee Community said the application process for PSV was confusing.

“We expect many drivers to quit immediately, noting that many are doing the job as their side job to gain income,” said Asliza Ali.

Haha, It looks like a perfect storm situation. Put in another few hours in the night and you can easily earn 5 to 6 k a month net. Everything seems to fall into place for you everyday to hit ave 200 to 300 during this off peak 7 hours. I guess 3rd element is getting consistent luck factor everyday. I started driving again 2 weeks ago after a long absence. Poor thing only had 1 airport ping for 2 weeks and only average rm 250 to RM 300 gross for 10 to 12 hours driving. I only managed to hit > RM 300 once and that's the day i got an airport job. Your story gave hope to all aspiring Grab drivers to jump into the business.

I don't know what will happen after July but for current situation your income is base on luck no up or mp slot even in some very high demand area you also need to wait like 20-30 minutes to get a job , mp up slot if you bad luck you spend 10 minutes to pick up point then wait 5 minutes pax no show you cancel get RM3 the next job come in RM 5 with TBB RM5 but the job finish around 30 minutes means your mp slot gone already , this situation always happen to me , so yeah I drive 2 year non stop already since grab start ths AA TBB shit pray for god is better than asking what strategy in forum

The thing is his strategy is able to achieve it within 8 hours driving which i think will take most full timers like me at least 10 hours to achieve under current condition. A trip to and fro airport earning 130 will eat up at least 5 hours leaving 3 hours to earn another 170 is really admirable.

Drop off point is definitely an important consideration.

In one occasion, when I was ferrying a rider, I got another job. The pick up point of the 2nd job was the same as the drop off point of the 1st job. (It was a service apartment.)
Due to heavy jam, it took me 30 min to complete the first job. Pity the riders of the 2nd job, who had to wait for me.

If Grab had assigned the 2nd job to another driver, the riders probably would not wait that long.

BTW the riders of the 2nd job were PRC. They were very polite and didn't make noise despite waiting for that long.
