The worst part was the destination was sime darby plantation inside a jungle where no tar road for at least 6 to 7 km so the last 6 to 7km to rch thr took me abt 30 to 40mins as heavy rain and the terrain was red earth and stones. After tht another 30to40mins to use the same route bck to the main road my car completely covered by mud after come out that estate.
All took mny hours from 5pm start ended at home 12.30am

i was relunctant but looking at the fare and thinking can settle the 180km distance in abt 2 hrs made me go ahead but never thought the last part was on estate terrain

Hi Guys, im a lurker in this forum here. Im a part time Grab Drive with a full time job and got the PSV license.（Only fetch customers omw to work/home or during weekends full time）.Currently im facing a choice regarding picking my first car （previously I drive my father Toyota Avanza）and need some experts advise：

1）Volkswagen Polo 1.6 sedan（Year 2015）, 2nd hand.
Price：RM36,000 （OTR price, not included roadrax/insurance）
Pros：
-Looks cool （Ez to pick up girls😋）
-within my budget
-looks brand new and accident free （need go puspakom there verify though）
-Performance good
-long term wise？

Cons：
-Was informed by my family that German/Euro car maintainence/spare part is quite expensive.

Remark：My heart wants me to buy this car but logic dictates otherwise. The Car Salesperson says that i can use this car for Grab & car wrap, and maintainence/fuel will be much better than a regular Bezza. （Cant fully trust him as he is trying to sell me the car.）

2）Toyota Vios 1.5 （Year 2015）, 2nd hand.
Price：RM50,000 （OTR price, not included roadtax/insurance)
Pros：
-Stable and Trusty
-Push Start Button（Not sure whats the difference with regular key start, but looks cool.）
-Easy maintainence/spare part （My experience with Toyota brands）
-Long term wise.

Cons：
-Kinda out of my prefered budget, but still maintainable.
-Looks normal.

3）Perodua Bezza（ either new or 2nd hand）
Price：RM37,000 - 44,000
Pros：
-Most popular car for Grab Drivers.
-Fuel efficient and economic wise

Cons：
-Looks Meh
-Maintainence：i heard from the car sales person every 60k km u need to spend RM700-800 to change something under the Sterling wheel, making it maintainence bad.
-Long term bad.

Im a car newbie, and my friends/family cant really provide  any useful advise. I travel alot （Grab or no Grab）, and usually need to ferry alot of job related items so small cars arent really my thing. I welcome any car/financial advice as this will be my first car, and i prefer long term use and wont put me into financial ruin. （I will usually use one thing quite long and rarely change it until it is not usable anymore. You can verify with my holey shoes and underwear.😎）

As a general rule, buy a cheap car for doing grab is better.

Save costs and less “heart pain” if there is any damage on the vehicle while on the trip.

Maybe equal priority between taxi & Grabcar.
Comission for taxi is 10% while Grabcar is 20%, so i think 1st priority is for Grabcar.
Eventho 10% only for taxi, for Grab, it is still better than the job go to Mycar, Mula, Dacsee, etc... hahaha.. my analysis make sense or not? 🤭

Shit, yesterday evening must hv a complaint by a rider bcos i was indirectly asked his favour to cancel the trip. All bcos too jam and no TBB ard maluri area! Text him need 35 ms to reach and no response, called me but i didnt pick up, he was showing his angry face want me to cancel but i didnt, ended up today my account suspended and hv to go for reeducation class! What a waste of time again

In some circumstances MA is "not healthy" in jobs allocations. It may caused super far pick up and low fare jobs unwanted by drivers and kena by AA drivers who targeting daily incomes.

Does each EHO need their own eVp for each driver? So even got Grab evp then need to apply again for other companies. I can't seem to find a direct answer for this.
