So, don’t think too much. Because by the time you arrive at one 100% correct answer, the time to act has passed and you’ll be overthinking about your regrets.
Don’t think too much, doesn’t mean don’t think at all. Go by the key facts, but don’t expect to have the situation 100% clarified. Here’s some reading for you if you are the curious sort:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_computingA good example of don’t overthink, and living by probability instead of certainty:
We know it’s fucking insane to drive in middle of KL at 6pm on a normal work day. Yes, it’s not 100% certain that all fares there are shit, but I’m 90% sure. So I just don’t go into there after 4pm. I use set destination and camp in Subang, where I know 80% of the fares I get will be frequent trips from Taipan LRT to USJ9 or nearby neighbourhood.
I also know the probability of getting a ride there is significantly lower on weekends or public holiday, so I either don’t drive on those days, or I go elsewhere.
When I don’t get any rides, I think it’s probably because there are no one ordering a ride there or there are nearer drivers to passengers, instead of 100% mod case or grab screwing with me.
I go online in my free time to find Sunway uni schedule, check for big events, etc.
So, here are the key facts:
1. Drivers, especially part timers in this thread, decided to not continue past July
2. Exam is hard for most people, might not even pass and will just give up after July
3. Drivers will old cars might not be able to get new car
4. Drivers that can get new car, don’t think it’s profitable to buy one just for grab
Is it 100% that there will be less drivers after July? No, but it’s probably 90% true. Will the passengers stop using Grab after July? 70% yes if Gojek comes in in time to start another fare war, or somehow Malaysians learned to walk 2 or 3km without complaining by then.
So instead of spending my days in fear, I just understand the key fact and then stop worrying about it. Instead of wasting time on overthinking, I refine my strategy to get consistent earning. Simple as that.
