true true, i forgotten sorento. hehe..... too rare species. Dont forget the starex royale.I also forgotten about innova as well.  laugh.gif

yeah, i wonder how they going to spec in for xpander/livina. would be interesting to see how they going to fight in this tough field.

Mitsubishi initially planned to bring in the Expander in 2018. But I think with the launch of the Aruz and having this kind of pricing, they decided to scrap the idea and instead let Nissan bring it in as the new Grand Livina because they have better support here.
Wonder if Nissan can put 1.6L or 1.8L engines into the Expander-Livina since the current Grand Livina is using these two variants.

Owners will need to lower the spare tyre each time they need to check the pressure. Foresee many Aruz running about with soft spare tyre.

The punctured tyre will probably end up in the back of the car because it needs to be patched up asap. Hopefully owners will remember to pull up the chain holding the spare tyre before driving off.
*
To avoid having to change a flat, always keep a tyre pump in the car.
This way you can just pump up the tyre and drive to the nearest tyre shop/petrol station.
Unless it is a major damage then no choice.

I got my Aruz on Feb 3rd . Within 4 days , have completed 1500km .. East West Highway done from Kuala Terengganu to Perlis and back . A week after , done Kuala Terengganu to Cameron via Gua Musang . Last week , done Kuala Terengganu to KL .

For family car , I love it . My kids have no complaint sitting at the back . They are comfortable then I'm fine .
I have no problem handling even on uphill ride.
My wife love it as she will be the one using it .

If you are looking for speed and power , this is not your thing.
*
Thanks for the review.
I am planning to get one too and am looking around at owners' reviews before making a decision.
Well for those looking for speed and power, there is always the Urus for them to contend with...

I just got my car yesterday, SA gave me a few pleasant freebies as well  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif .

Took it for a drive around Penang, everything seems good. My family is very happy with it especially those at the 3rd row. They mentioned that 3rd row is surprisingly spacious once you sit in it. Handling was good as well.

Pickup-wise, well its not meant to go 0-100 in 4 seconds. Unless you force the engine to grunt, it drives very smooth.

There were 2 areas to be improved though.

1. Radio/Speakers. Audio quality is just....soft and poor.

2. Getting into the car especially for old people. The car is quite high, without any sidestep available.

Driving around 150km in stop-go condition in city, consumed about 2 bars.

I'll need to wait until my next pump to determine how the FC is like. So far drive and comfort are a positive experience.

Remember that this is a practical car that get you from point A to point B without the added gadgets and gizmos.

Good to know, good to know.
Gathering feedbacks from owners before deciding on getting my own icon_rolleyes.gif

So to all the owners who have already received their cars and driving it, what is the overall verdict?
Recommended to get? The lack of power is acceptable? I am thinking of making a booking by this month.
In comparison, I drove a relative's 2.0 Nissan Serena yesterday. Gawd, the acceleration is worse than the Aruz.

good to hear that, my wife's aruz still awaiting for her turn, glittering silver AV variant.
*
Are you based in KL?
The assembly plant is in Rawang so KL owners will probably get their cars faster.
But production for the AV variant is slow according to the SA.

Coil mats can buy outside. Cheaper.

how big/high is the armrest? mind sharing a pic?

This is how the Perodua armrest looks like.
My SA offered me a free 3rd party armrest but he said the Perodua's is nicer and have to top up a little.

QUOTE(raquinz @ Apr 27 2019, 08:12 PM)
If you pust armrest, you'll lose three cupholders which i think really sucks coz during driving cannot put drink anywhere.Perodua should put the cup holder near the dashboard like BRV and Ertiga..
*
Yes, the cup holders behind the handbrake will be sacrificed but I rather have the console for better comfort when driving.
I don't like using cupholders as drinks in cans and cups will still find a way to splash out even with lids.

Perodua armrest looks a lot better. just top up abit..
*
Yes, I am getting Perodua's armrest.
There are a few gear up items that are worth getting like the luggage tray and armrest.
Coil mats I will buy from outside.
The others I feel are not necessary.

i spotted another defect on my wife's aruz, the engine hood paint finishing is uneven. You may thought that is some reflection but it wasn't. It look like some dirt on the paint itself but you can't clean it. A further check even able to observe that the clear coat are not applied evenly.
*
The best thing to do is to consult your SA about it and see if there is anything they can do.
How long have you been driving your car? Has it been exposed to extreme heat?

guys, watch out your rear shock absorber. some owners feedback it's leaking
*
I don't think damaged suspensions can be classified as a common problem because it very much depends on the road conditions they have been subjected to.
Regardless old or new, it will still be damaged if the vehicle has hit a pot hole hard or being driven fast over speed bumps or bumpy roads.

QUOTE(singk @ Dec 5 2019, 02:31 PM)
apparently there's a petition going on regarding the spare tyre.

Recall Perodua Aruz, change a defect spare tyre without any cost incurr.

Perodua Aruz, manufacturing batch Jan - Jun 2019 have a defect at spare tyre, due to poor Engineering Design by manufacturer (DFMEA).

Perodua need to replace a new spare tyre immediately without any cost incurred.

Perodua Aruz driver have a fatality risk if the defect tyre exploded due to thin wall tyre.

*
Fake news and an attempt to tarnish the Aruz's reputation?
If I am not mistaken, the Aruz's spare tyre is exactly the same as the other four tyres.
So how can there be a defect with thin wall tyres?

Hi Perodua Aruz owners, just want to check if you experience some backseat sounds (back seat noises like the seats are not properly secured). How to overcome that or is that normal? Cheers for your feedback
*
This is normal with flexible seats because they are not permanently fixed in one position.
There will surely be some squeaks from the latches and joints.

Was at the shops yesterday evening and suddenly one Indian dude approached me and asked if the gearbox (the space next to where you usually rest your left leg) will feel hot.
He said his feels very hot even when driving short distances. Mine doesn't.
Wondering if any of you experience the same thing and what could be the cause.
Is this a problem or normal occurrence?
He said he brought it back to the SC and was told it is normal.
