Hi guys,

Just wanna share to you guys since i tried the same thing to my friend's Aruz AV and it works. Havent tried using Android Auto but Carplay legibly usable, but  dont expect the HU to perform fluently like Android units. Virtually Perodua HU with GPS should be able to use this ...

Hi bro,

May I know what is that? i thought we can directly connect our phone to the HU as I saw the brochure.

I am not yet an aruz owner, but plan to get one between aruz and brv.

Thank you.

Ya there is a feature called 'smartlink' for the AV variant but only compatible with Android 6.0 and above. Additionally not every android phone can be connected successfully. So if ure like me using an Iphone, the dongle addition will be a better choice.

Try youtube Carplay/Android Auto to understand more on the feature. Its basically a incar feature ported to your HU (if your HU supports it).

Bro, it mention support Android 6.0 and above but not all phones success connect. No choice, they don't focus on this part so mostly just a gimmick.

How about the audio quality? I connected my iPhone via Bluetooth to the HU and play songs in Spotify, the audio quality is terrible. I need to increase volume up to 20+ to hear the song playing, yet the quality is very bad. Any different when connected via Carplay dongle?

my bluetooth music is ok, i can hear ok around 11-12 volume. I did try switch from BT music to Carplay Spotify, not much of a difference just that is sound louder and quality better just a little bit. Probably is the speakers ... biggrin.gif

Anyone has tried changing the HU on Adv variant? if yes, can we still use the steering control and the USB ports placed inside the car?

Myself already install, d.i.y rm220 only. Easy to install, all you need 12mm - 14mm spanner, a screwdriver to unplug abs clip then put in the stud into the chassis frame, each side 4 bracket, just lying down sleep on floor and install it.

No need to jackup the car?
