Digi's network
Digi operates 2G GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 3G WCDMA/HSPA+ & 4G LTE/LTE-A network.
Here is a list of network bands that Digi runs on.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Details of LTE

Digi's LTE currently runs on 900MHz, 1800MHz and 2600MHz.
The former offers great coverage indoors & outdoors and can be identified with their cell ID in the range of 20X, the latter offers much better capacity & speed, albeit with much worse coverage. It can also be identified with the cell ID in the range of 10X.
Digi's LTE-A network combines this two network bands to achieve theoretically double the speed of regular LTE.
Digi's 900Mhz provides much better coverage than both 1800Mhz and 2600Mhz and aims to improve indoor coverage.

Requirements
To use LTE, there are three requirements, a 4G-LTE enabled SIM Card, a 4G-LTE capable mobile device and you have to be within Digi's LTE network.
To use LTE-A, you need a LTE-A capable device and be within their LTE-A coverage area.
To check whether your SIM card is 4G-LTE compatible, simply SMS
LTE or lte to 20000

Here is their network coverage page.

Explaination
To have a family line, you need to pick a package as a base plan from Digi's offerings.
After that, you will need to add on RM10 for data sharing feature to be allowed.
A basic supplementary line is can either be RM38 either RM28, or even a RM10 supplementary package is available as a data only SIM.
You can add on data upgrades to your principle line holder to share it with your supplementary lines.
You can allocate a certain quota to any of your numbers through the MyDigi app.

As of right now it is still unclear whether you can subscribe to a plan and add on unlimited calls for RM10 or quota upgrades and not have any supplementary line. It is not allowed.

Digi's Supplementary Lines comes in three varieties.

You can add additional internet quotas. There are the three options.
Do note that they are not recurring subscriptions, so you will need to subscribe to them monthly.

Opps my bad... Didn't know that  sweat.gif
If that's the case, then I have lots of questions (out of curiosity) to ask dy..

prosibu
1) How Digi decides which areas to refarm 2100MHz for LTE?
2) Since all 4 telcos have an equal of 15MHz bandwidth of 2100MHz including Digi, and Digi refarm that 10MHz for 4G, leaving 5MHz left for 3G, is it really enough? Wouldn't that cause more congestion on Digi 3G network?
3) Any plans that Digi would shut down 2G network in the future, or at least in phases?
2MHz bandwidth on 900MHz band in selected rural areas, and 5MHz* bandwidth on 1800MHz band
Or why not Digi have 2G network domestic roaming with either Maxis or Celcom, so that Digi can refarm those bandwidth for 4G services? Besides M2M and minority users who still using 2G phones, it doesn't seem very spectral efficient nowadays considering the increasing network congestion on 3G/4G networks. Just imagine how much speeds can be delivered to users with the MHz that currently used for 2G  hmm.gif
*
Honestly, i think all telcos in malaysia should just combine their 2g networks, waste of bandwidth and resources to maintain overlapping 2g coverage that benefits very little people.

Speaking of 700 MHz, what happened to the Band 28 auction that was supposed to have taken place in 2018?  MCMC is very quiet on this.

I think still need to wait until analog tv deactivated first.

Maybe this been discussed before, I just join this forum.
I kena kaw kaw. When your travel aboard even you don’t answer the call, it still charge roaming incoming call if it go to your voice mail.
This not happen in maxis n celcom last time I own them. I just join Digi in 2017.
*
If I’m not mistaken you can disable roaming voicemail, you’lol have to look it up.

Axiata and Telenor in talks to merge Asian operations

KUALA LUMPUR: Two Asian telco giants — Malaysia-based Axiata Group Bhd and Norwegian Telenor Group — are in talks to merge their operations in Asia.

In terms of geographical presence, Axiata has a wider footprint. While the two mobile service operators both have a presence in Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Bangladesh and Pakistan, Axiata also operates in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Cambodia and Indonesia where Telenor is not present.

The negotiation also involves Axiata’s operations in Cambodia, Indonesia and Sri Lanka, apart from countries where both have a presence, according to sources familiar with the merger talks.

However, the value of the merger is not known as of now.

What an interesting news, early in the morning... I have better speed for Digi than Celcom in my area. laugh.gif

What kinds of changes will this merger bring to the users of Digi? I suppose not much?

I really hope quality can be maintained.
From what I can see Axiata will be taking the lead.

Telenor is gonna be the bigger shareholder
QUOTE
The newly merged entity will be based in Kuala Lumpur although 56.6% of the share will belong to Telenor and 43.5% will go to Axiata. In Malaysia, Axiata’s subsidiary, Celcom and its Telenor counterpart, Digi will be merged as well to become the largest mobile telco in the country.

There you go, the answer:
Source: https://www.thestar.com.my/business/busines...reate-monopoly/

When P1 and TM merges, they decided to rebrand/market their new 4G LTE service as "webe" which utilises on TM's existing 850MHz that is use for TMgo, and P1's existing Wimax frequencies (2300MHz and 2600MHz) which refarm most of the spectrum from Wimax into LTE.

I think the reason why they just want to consolidate into one single branding, Unifi Mobile because they don't wanna focus on 2 brandings, namely TMgo and webe. Plus, since every Malaysians are familiar with the Unifi branding, it also provides branding confidence for the customer, compared to "TMgo" and "webe", which the mass public may not even hear before. Basically, for marketing benefit la, in my opinion.

Is P1 Wimax still available? I think the answer is yes.

Technical stuff:

I think part of the Unifi branding is for convergence, like how maxis is doing it & recently Digi with digi fibre. Telcos are trying to provide a one stop solution to try and get customers hooked on both landline & mobile.

What do you think and should you continue using  Digi?

They aren't lying tho, it does take a really long time to get approval to set up a new cell site. If the signal & speed is bearable then you can test ur luck, otherwise just switch.
