This plan getting high ping recently.

Your signal reception is only one bar, of course it will result in higher ping.

Have anyone noticed that the network seems to prefer 3G more often, or sticking with 3G much longer before moving back to LTE? It's very irritating if it's true.

You must be at a weak 4G area.  For me, 99% of the time Digi is on LTE.
*
Not really, it's quite strong, because when I turn on the airplane mode and off it, the phone is connected to 4G with full bar.

4g or 4g+?
If 4g u might entering 900mhz which will drop u to 3g if signal weak abit...

I can't really tell it from iPhone. But anyway it still does not make sense to say that on 900mhz network, it will be easier to drop to 3G.

Opps my bad... Didn't know that  sweat.gif
If that's the case, then I have lots of questions (out of curiosity) to ask dy..

prosibu
1) How Digi decides which areas to refarm 2100MHz for LTE?
2) Since all 4 telcos have an equal of 15MHz bandwidth of 2100MHz including Digi, and Digi refarm that 10MHz for 4G, leaving 5MHz left for 3G, is it really enough? Wouldn't that cause more congestion on Digi 3G network?
3) Any plans that Digi would shut down 2G network in the future, or at least in phases?
2MHz bandwidth on 900MHz band in selected rural areas, and 5MHz* bandwidth on 1800MHz band
Or why not Digi have 2G network domestic roaming with either Maxis or Celcom, so that Digi can refarm those bandwidth for 4G services? Besides M2M and minority users who still using 2G phones, it doesn't seem very spectral efficient nowadays considering the increasing network congestion on 3G/4G networks. Just imagine how much speeds can be delivered to users with the MHz that currently used for 2G  hmm.gif

I guess the bare minimum should just be given to the 3G to just sufficient to carry the voice, and 2G should be outrightly shut down.

If 2G is shut down a lot of dual-SIM phones cannot run two networks concurrently.
*
I think that is not a concern for telco. Those who use dual sim with one only for 2G probably are not a huge source of revenue for telco...

Does anyone know if the box of surprise is still there in the new app? I can't seem to find it with the new user interface.

Digi is really bad in North south highway, I can't even maintain a smooth connection while traveling from Melaka to JB... the phone will keep jumping from full bar 4G to 1 bar, and 3G to no service, before changing again to 4G...
The best thing is that the case is usually closed with 'no abnormaly found by technical team' and case closed.. I wonder what is Digi doing nowadays? Don't even bother to improve the network?

Digi needs to buck up its network quality and implementation. It has a lot of features but it seems that the technical team is not able to keep up to the demand.

I'm not buying one of those unlimited call packages; doesn't make sense for a low volume caller like me (<10 minutes a month). WhatsApp when I can.

It's a profit driven company, and it's reasonable for bulk purchase to get cheaper rate than the alacarte.
