I was from Live Prepaid in fact and converted to Best Prepaid, that time I needed to do credit transfer and Live can't do it.

With MyDigi rewards and validity extend, don't need the transfer anymore smile.gif
Btw, there is charge 0.50 + 0.25 per transfer

soonwai Thanks a lot. Went to look and I got a lot of 'off net mo voice' and 'on net mo voice', most of the numbers I don't recognized (will double check the numbers again later). Anybody have this problem? A quick check on the net shows that there are digi customers complaining about this too. Can I get a refund?

Sigh! Feel so cheated. Have been with digi for years and never bothered to monitor until I got digi apps recently and realized I have been topping up so frequently. Guess have been paying lots of unfair $ to digi over the years. Thought I was saving money but ended up was wasting $

Call CS and ask to turn off PAYU internet. Had similar problems before. I even turn off that number for a few days and noticed it still deduct RM0.50 to RM1 each day. I ask for refund for all the wrongly charged amount as well. Took a while with MCMC report to get the refund.

Oh....this issue?
Need to delete all APNs as well. Simply disabling 'mobile data" isn't going to help. dry.gif

Something about 4G standard itself requiring data access which for some reason Digi charged to customers even though customer doesn't turn on 'mobile data'.

YoungMan I don't have internet data for this digi number, so guess won't have PAYU?

JohnLai Do I need to delete APNs since I don't subscribe to digi internet data for this number? If need to delete, how to delete them? Thanks

PAYU means pay as you use, hence no subscription needed.

YoungMan The digi number is inside a non-smartphone. So there's no way I can use internet. Thus, guess am safe on PAYU

Just to share--With regards to your question on whether only Digi does this to JohnLai, well I have unifi data, calls and sms and so far no unusual charges from them.

My sister changed his 3G phone to 4G phone and encountered the legendary 50cent draining last year. Wasn't able to get refund. puke.gif
Login to Digi OCS and noted it was listed as 'data internet' dry.gif . edit: Not sure if it was "data internet" or "mo voice" thing, can't recall.
Double checked and ensure the "Mobile data" disabled and still got 50cent draining. (4 - 6 instances for 1 second per day!!!!!)

Deleted all APNs at "Mobile Network settings"---> "Access Point Names" and problem solved.

Total amount drained was RM80 plus something.

It could be your no. got hacked since it's voice calls?

Anyway, been using Digi for years (both prepaid and postpaid), never got charged unfairly except for one SMS subscription for a newly registered no. (could be a recycled no.) which was quickly solved by Digi and no more after that. That was just RM 1.

Hotlink is also famous for their PAYU. My wife’s credit was totally deducted a few months back. Hotlink gave her full refund. She never had this problem before and she has been with Hotlink for like 20+ years. If you are using Android phones you have to dig deep into the settings to stop this illegal deductions. She has no data plan, always hooked up to home WiFi.

Even though her phone mobile data is switched off. In addition, I now set her Android phone mobile data to GSM only setting. This setting stopped the illegal deductions. She buys data on required basis.

Have no idea whether number is hacked. So far only recognize 1 number on the 'off net mo voice', 'on net mo voice'. Most of the time I hardly call/receive on this phone, so its pretty safe to say that almost all the numbers are not due to me. Thinking whether to write off the losses and when my credit is up, port to another provider or go and have a 'long talk/fight' with digi/MCMM.

Thanks for the feedback. Now have to be careful with what sim card provider I put in my android phone. Just remembered, I think redone is pretty safe on this so far.

No need to set until 2G.......3G will do. nod.gif

EDIT: Or....deleting all APNs if you insist on 4G. Only restore APN settings after you buy internet access.

Thanks for info, it’s easier for her to set back to 4G after she buys data.

Makes me wonder what's with the APN. In iOS usually people complain of the facetime activation charge each time phone is restart, but so far I didn't encounter that. Fyi I am using both.

2G? that's going back to early 2000 era. Maybe now can try to delete the APN as suggested by JohnLai.

Eh....don't forget I only have Digi for testing. All my family members use Digi, so I am not sure if the APN removal method will solve your issue or not since you use Hotlink......

APN removal solved 2 of my sisters Digi 50cent draining issue on 4G (using Asus Zenfone and Zenfone 2), both are on Digi Best Prepaid V4 package (The legendary cheap super long life at RM38).

Strangely enough, forcing 2G or 3G only doesn't result in random 50cent draining. ohmy.gif EDIT: 2G/3G with APN available and "mobile data" set to off. nod.gif

EDIT2: If removing APN on 4G works for your case, report back here. If it doesn't work, update us as well.

Spoke to my wife, she said since it’s working fine now, don’t fix it if it’s not broken. One of the reasons is the deductions is very fast over the day. From the records, very hour 10 or 50¢ was deducted. Now to get back the refund from Maxis that is another story. For Hotlink customers with this problem are those with no data plans or those on 365 plan ($33/year)
BS Hotlink CS recommended to my wife: upgrade to monthly plan, change to dumb phone or deactivate her GPRS phone line (to reactivate the GPRS on her phone, she has to give 5days notice so that she can buy data then)
All recommendations were simply useless.

Shopee is out early this month. Still have 3 unused from last month. Speedmart is back. No sign of Lazada yet.

NY Steak Shack beef looks nice but TnC quite restrictive.
