YoungMan The digi number is inside a non-smartphone. So there's no way I can use internet. Thus, guess am safe on PAYU
Just to share--With regards to your question on whether only Digi does this to JohnLai, well I have unifi data, calls and sms and so far no unusual charges from them.
Thanks for sharing. Hopefully they be a good boy once merge with Celcom.

My sister changed his 3G phone to 4G phone and encountered the legendary 50cent draining last year. Wasn't able to get refund.
Login to Digi OCS and noted it was listed as 'data internet'

. edit: Not sure if it was "data internet" or "mo voice" thing, can't recall.
Double checked and ensure the "Mobile data" disabled and still got 50cent draining. (4 - 6 instances for 1 second per day!!!!!)
Deleted all APNs at "Mobile Network settings"---> "Access Point Names" and problem solved.
Total amount drained was RM80 plus something.
Makes me wonder what's with the APN. In iOS usually people complain of the facetime activation charge each time phone is restart, but so far I didn't encounter that. Fyi I am using both.

Hotlink is also famous for their PAYU. My wife’s credit was totally deducted a few months back. Hotlink gave her full refund. She never had this problem before and she has been with Hotlink for like 20+ years. If you are using Android phones you have to dig deep into the settings to stop this illegal deductions. She has no data plan, always hooked up to home WiFi.
Even though her phone mobile data is switched off. In addition, I now set her Android phone mobile data to GSM only setting. This setting stopped the illegal deductions. She buys data on required basis.
2G? that's going back to early 2000 era. Maybe now can try to delete the APN as suggested by
JohnLai.
