I'm sorry, bt I hv to disagree with you abt getting an old technology, it's because of mentality like ones you've suggested that caused Proton unable to move forward. Becuz "you don't need Lotus handling to get you from point A to B", or "you don't need better/newer/fancy looking car to get you from point A to B", so just be Mr. Cheapo and get the cheapest and basic ones out there. So long they're reliable and have high re-sale value, that's all what a car should be like. And then, ten years from now, we'll still be hearing Proton producing 30 years old car, Proton this and that, while P2 unworthy of its cheap success tactic will get the support of everyone save for petrolheads.
Better handling, are you sure? Savvy is better than Wira n all the rest of Proton's old models. I've nvr sat in Viva before, bt I've seen it before, and it looks quite big, bt Savvy needs nt worry abt nt being able to boast as the most spacious cabin. It is actually able to fit me and my 2 big frens just nice at the back. And with Lotus RnH, tough body strength (I still remember results showed its 3X stronger than Wira's body), Renault engine, its a bargain compared to Viva. Only problem is.....it's a Proton. And Msians, hate Protons. Oh yes, they can dig up from all kinds of sources and produce Oxford-level arguments to bash Proton, just becuz his PW failed 5 times, his door handle broke after a few hours out of the showroom, then glorify the cheap bastards who oni know how to paste their badge from its parent company, knowing well they'll never develop their own cars. Ever.
That said, yes, I personally prefer the Savvy, bt relistically, I definitely made the wrong choice. Kinda surprised to see quite a number here prefers the Savvy over Viva too, however, this obviously will nt reflect the general Msian car consumers. I can foresee Viva sales taking over Savvy's overall sales since launched in 2005 by the end of.....mayb this year?

In fact, i am an old man that i don't care about the marketing gimmick, lotus handling, VVTi, DVVT. Old man like me want a bigger car, bigger space, bigger boot, comfort, good for highway crusing and suit for family ride, old man don't really bother about fuel consumption since it doesn't make any much difference.
a) A small pocket rocket which doesn't look handsome has the best handling among all.
b) A cute little machine drinks very little milk, some said it is girlish, some said it is expensive
Which one do you choose?? It is your money, spend it wisely.
