Hehe guys and gals,

This thread idea came across my mind when I sat down at home yesterday after 3 rounds of dota at cc with frenz. It happen that one of our fren is newbie and NOOB, even after being lectured for a long time . Neway, lets cut that off and continue with our topic . I then try to recall what's the NOOBIEST thing I ever did when I started to pickup dota.

Let me start with one:

I'm playing 5.84c map that time and using Pugna. Playing along with my coursemates whom are considered PRO and I'm just a newbie. Not new to WarCraft3 game control (in fact I finished the campaigns), but certainly new to dota. I always ask for their suggestion and recommendation for what item to buy for my hero. Also, that's the very first time I'm using Pugna. They asked me to make Dagon. So I spend a bit of time checking out the recipe for Dagon and it can be upgraded till 800 Burst Dmg with (+100 each level). So I bought a Staff of Wizardy as a starter and then I saw my friend bought 2 Staff of Wizardy. I'm puzzled why he need to buy 2 when only 1 needed for Dagon? So I read the description once again and finally I came out with a conclusion, I need to buy the same set of item in order to upgrade my Dagon. I felt pretty costly paying so much for extra +100dmg, but seeing they were very busy with themselves, so I decided to play on my own (we're playing together in BS but everyone at their own house).

After my first Dagon out, I start saving for the 2nd lvl. Thinking that I need a lot to buy the next Dagon, I start collecting item again. Finally after like 20 minutes I managed to get my 2nd Dagon and I were stunned when I saw 2 Dagons instead of 1. I thought isn't both supposed to be combined together? Then I asked my frenz and they were laughing hilarious when they found out. They asked me why buy 2 Dagon when I only need to buy the recipe scroll again to upgrade? I said, "I thought we need to buy the same items as on the description in order to get it upgraded? See Nic (my fren who bought 2x Staff of Wizardy earlier) also bought 2 Staff of Wizardy just now." I clicked on his hero again to check his item.

Hahahaha... he bought 2x Staff of Wizardy as 1 for the use to make Dagon and another one for Guinsoo. I were like ZZZzzzz... Then they told me that even thou I have 2 Dagons, I only can use one at one time as both will receive the same CD when I used one

Oh well... the old days...

since backstabbing your teammates is almost impossible for dota

i often feed my opponents by leaving all my items on the grounds at opponents' territory, once they picked up my items... gg

My noobest mistake till now is dying from neutral creep. When ever i die the opponent will msg - noob ha ha

i have seen ppl buying recipes only thinking that its the item and play happily..

Upgrade stats for intel hero for lvl 1.

Well, if u did that in BS could result a BAN if being report

It do happen to me before also... it will be either due to concurrence of lag, phone call, sms or I felt asleep

My ex always buy the papers first before the items

not i did i did a lot but cant remember.

once i played with a newbie but i appreciate him as he quickly said at the start of the game he's a newbie. He played viper and from the item he bought i know he's a noob..

Then he got firstblooded and my teammate told him you need to get boots cos ur too slow. OK he say once i checked, he bought boot of elvenskin..

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL then the whole team jeered him hahaa he said sorry and bought bos instead ..

i always feed oponents with Devine (some time 2 D.R.).. and watch them dying defend their base after mega creeps.

1.I buy whatever items i can get on asap,that being whenever i get enough money, i will go back and buy asap lawl.

2.Made buriza de kyanon on almost all the characters cause my friend taught me the recipe. I never emphasized on my hp. Lots of damage but very less hp, in battles im usually the 1st to die.

3.Never knew where the secret shop was, it took me a whole damn game looking for some item, configuring how to make it, i think it was perseverance. Man those were the days.

i buy recipe rather than item and wonder why my stat din't increase

noobest thing i ever do was i bought lothar edge for SA in 5.84c last time..

a very long time ago, when i played my 1st decent game where i was able to earn $, i bought 2 soul boosters for leoric

My friend bought 2 BoS, reason being: one for each leg. LOL

lol i bought refresher for sa first time i play sa only manage to finish the refresher after 4 our rax broke and when i finally used the refresher not enuff mana

Purge own teammate

ambush an red hp enemy, suprise him and sunder him with my full hp

killed naix but no slots available, ended up letting opponents taking it

noob action? is when we saw a "confirmed winning" game, all us bought Divine, even CM bought a Divine, then end up we all died n they took all of our divine and GG us.

I seen ppl did that b4 too... but he manage to get soulbooster 1st before refresher ,so he got enough mana to spam ulti twice

This one was did by my fren... not to say he's noob but rather accidentally... we're (3 heroes) attacking the 2nd tower of the Scourge in the middle lane till Lich came out and 2 of us turn back left my fren alone still hitting... For god sake Lich cast ulti against him and then he blinked to us while the 'ice' still moving towards him ... ended up... TRIPLE KILLS!!!

not really, last time there was a bug, while invi press item button then toatally invi even ward can't detect lol

Hahaha I din know about that. My friend helpfully suggested that when opponents cast silence I can use lothars to escape and annoy them LOL.

Leave the game and never return to dota, as it is lousy...and after leaving take on a dota player with a melee micro game challenge...But always the guy seems to think he is right but actually malaysian dota players are just too pure micro noob

melee micro game is too hard .... not many can handle that...

thats why most ppl play DotA....

I used to hit a kill my own teamate on the same lane when he gets poisoned, especially when i want to solo. or maybe block his path to slow him down to make him die.

pudge hook a ruptured teammate in order to save him (he already hold into the ground and using cm...no need scare bs rite? )but i think u can guess what come after that rite

SA level 6 no learn ulti

One which I noticed till today still many people practicing it... even in yesterday games also, a pro and n00b did it... MOVE Sand King while casting ulti... pro will claim as wrong click and n00b will say the ulti suck (coz s/he didn't know gotta wait till the animation end )

i'm very interested in playing dota..always look at people play in cc and always get jealous whenever they godlike im a newbie and im still learning! guess im a noob..heh~

u all sound really pro..can teach me which item to buy when i use lina inverse and medusa? i like using girl hero..hehehe but my guy fren said the hero i choose are weaklings..

err..this is good for warlock...since shadow word level 1 doesn't heal more than tanggo and ur normal hit does more damage than it

then for medusa? no need buy boots coz no legs lol..sand king buy 6 BoS O.o


the 1st few times i played dota, i call their skill names according to RO coz i was an RO fanatic then. e.g -> freezing field - storm gust.. storm bolt - hammer fall.. chaos bolt - manipulate spirit sphere.. frost bite - frost diver..
lvl 1 keep on spamming skill on enemy
i'm used to play v6..when i play v5, i wanted to make battlefury and linken and i made diffusal blade before making manta

the thing that i did while 1st time playing dota was didnt bought a thing from the start of the game till the end....only notice it after a few games with frens and they start asking why i didnt buy any items..duh..

i buy 3 ultimate orbs, coz got +10 stat mah

always watch other player but no look at own hero's hp, end up free kill... hahaha those times
