Hello there lowyat community!

I would like to ask the community for help in suggesting a good budget microphone that is good for gaming. Particularly I use discord a lot to chat with my friends or sometimes use the ingame voice function on games that have that support.

I've browsed through Shopee and Lazada and saw few options but wasn't sure whether they're suitable for chatting as they're mostly recording condenser mic. The one so far that caught my attention was the BM 800 Microphone and would like to know whether it'll do the job or if you have any other suggestions do let me know below smile.gif

Thanks all in advance!

I had the same interest in a mic. I have an audiophile headphone that I really like and not keen to replace with gaming headphone, so thought having a mic to use occasionally. Local stores not really helping much as far as just gaming mic goes... I saw Kyle (Bitwit on YouTube) demo a BT mic that magnetically snap onto headphone, but kinda pricey

Yeah I'm currently satisfied using my Sony MDR Z7 and will not be looking to replace that with a gaming headphone. Microphones that I've searched online and was recommended costs around 200+ which is beyond my current budget 😅

i was considering the same thing back then; getting a condenser mic next to time. get a mic stand bla bla bla. but thinking about all the wire clutters on my desk (my peripherals are wireless exclusively except headphones), i gave up ultimately.

After much research, I ended up spending extra and get a Modmic (Modmic 4 is less than 200 without the mute button) instead. I have 2 headphones now. I can switch back and forth easily by reattaching the magnets.

it's just like you can have your mic wherever you want without having a huge ice cream cone sitting on your desk.

anyway bro, you've alrady spent that much on headphones, might as well right biggrin.gif

edit:
modmic link here

I had a Modmic 5 and wasn't impressed with the cost to quality ratio. I sold it and bought a Zalman Zm-Mic1. It has the same quality as a Modmic imo. 11 USD + 10 USD shipping, value buy.

Gotta agree with Modmic 5's pricing. It doesn't worth it.
Anyway, I bought my Modmic 4 during sales (15% off iirc) which cost me less than RM200 shipped. For the features it offers, imo, it's well worth it.
