Hi all, I would like to build a CPU based on GTX1060. Budget maybe around RM2500-3000ish to play decent 1080p games with smooth FPS. Would prefer the setup with at least 16gb ram and 1 SSD.

My question is, is this graphic card a bit overkill for a mere 1080p gaming? I don't mind a downgrade honestly.Would prefer a truly value for money setup over spending more money for little to no performance upgrade.

Is i5 processor decent enough for my setup? Should I invest more money for MOBO?

What is your recommendations for the build based on GTX1060? Or 1050?

System requirements does not go backwards. Asking too much for the budget. Go for RX 580 instead. Got promo.

AMD Ryzen 5 2600 - 649
MSI B450-A Pro - 399
Kingston 8GB DDR4-2666 X2 - 498
Power Color RX 580 8GB - 849 ( https://www.lazada.com.my/products/graphic-...i8WB9z&search=1 )
WD Blue or Seagate 1TB - 179
FSP Hexa 600W - 189
Thermaltake Versa H24 case - 189

RM2952 total (Mostly Viewnet prices)

GTX 1060 6GB is around RM200ish more money.

GTX1060 is already RM1200. That leaves you with with RM 1800. What can you get with RM1800??

Refuse to recommend SSD with no DRAM cache. Look for Seagate Barracuda 250GB at RM154 from Shopee.

Probably wont reduce prices much. Meanwhile, available stock will slowly dwindle. Nvidia did overstock the Pascal cards due to bursting of crypto mining bubble, but should be discontinued in the next 1-2 months and less stock around June to make way for GTX1160 etc, which might be launched at a higher price point.

Rumour has it Navi is launching alongside Ryzen 2.
It's good to wait before making any purchase now.
