The brand of milk powder, equipment (from bottles, clothing to stroller), disposable pampers or cloth diaper, babysitting method and etc will make a very big different. I cincai also spent around RM2.5k a month including babysitting services.

Just had a newborn. On the 'one-time' buy things such as car seat, strollers, playpen (which i forsee might last long for at least 2 years), spent around 4k.
On the monthly expenses, formula milk + diapers + daycare (mine 1.5k) will come around 2k/m for the first year. Additional 200-300 a month for clothings/feeding bottles. So, should be around 2.5k a month. |

Please expect slight more for the first child, like mentioned in post above many one off stuff to buy.
By the age of 1 should start to settle down, I would say including baby sitter roughly 1.5k-2.5k will do per month. Some of the month prone to have unexpected stuff, like baby sick la, toys, add clothing etc. Standard recurring stuff like diapers, milk, food I would say prob 500 may be able to cover. |

You can get free sample from expo or paediatrician. Remember breastmilk still the best. |
