I heard a lot of people said if water keep been reboil is bad to be drunk because the minerals in it somewhat became toxic. Then those machine like Coway or Cuckoo they have a separate tank in it especially for hot water, so it will kept refilling the tank, does that means the water inside keep on been reboil?

then it is bad to be drink right?

First you need to state whether you are boiling filtered water or unfiltered tap water.

1. Filtered tap water
Most filtration system are reverse osmosis. This removes almost completely the minerals. Boiling almost pure water over and over again gives you pure water.

2. Unfiltered tap water
Reboiling increases the concentration of the minerals due to loss of water molecules as steam. Is the amount of mineral consumed harmful? That depends on your overall diet. It might even be a supplement for your deficiency in rare cases.

Yes reboiling water twice or more may increase the water temperature above 100 Celsius. Thus it may cause fire and ur whole house might burn down.

reboil or not its irrelevant mostly
what is the container that the water boil in, initially or reboil that matters the most

If you’re using a metal kettle, reboiling the same water is fine as there is no changes in the water chemistry.

However there are some precautions for plastic kettles as it uses heat resistant plastic, plastic nonetheless will have some traces of chemicals in the water. That’s after you boil the same water multiples times anyway. So you’ll be fine even if you reboil the same water 2-3 times.

It does have an effect when you're using it to make coffee.

I used to reboil the leftover water in my electric kettle all the time to make coffee.

After a while I was wondering why my coffee taste sucks even though it should be the same.

After some goggling, found about using "fresh-boiled water".

Since then I always readd some water to leftoever water before boiling it. Taste of coffee back to normal. smile.gif
