I know those high refresh rate display will be beneficial for gaming with fast-paced action so you wont get blurred visuals and stuff but I'm wondering, what's the point of having 144Hz display if the power isn't really enough to reach that high of an FPS? I'm looking at laptops like the ASUS FX505 and the Acer Predator Helios 300. Sure, maybe like CSGO should be good but for other games, GTX 1060 and i7-8750h or i5-8300h, is it even enough?

People tend to forget that most high refresh rate panels have good display quality - high sRGB, high brightness etc

Also smoother display for everyday tasks - cursor movement, scrolling webpages

you might consider respond time 1ms vs 3ms VS 7ms

Would past 60FPS, or rather 60Hz, be noticeable for these typical everyday tasks?

higher refresh rate = lower input lag?

I think given my use, a small difference is rather negligible. Not some big time competitive gamer or anything laugh.gif

Well, i used 144hz on my legion y530, going back to 60 hz when i connect to my second screen does makes it sad(144hz daily usage smooth yoz)

but if u play fifa/pes i advised u against buying 144hz, due to going above 60fps, makes it stutter, or maybe im too noob haha

60+FPS is noticeable even in everyday tasks
Higher refresh rate automatically lower input lag (IPS will still have disadvantage compared to TN)
Nowadays 120/144Hz display can be found in more affordable laptops

It's really depend I think, most fps gamer don't want good looking graphics they manually adjust the settings to low or very low to get the desired FPS, this kinds of specs are meant for people who loves games not for people who likes social media and of course there's a huge difference if you use it that way. It's either a choice if you get a 144hz or just 60hz.

well, if you're playing some fps games then you might need to have a higher hz display monitor. But nowadays all monitors are expensive and i couldn't afford it lol, theres one time i wanted to get rog's monitor but it's wayyy expensive compare to others.

Not in laptops it seems

You can get 120Hz/144Hz easily under 4k. High refresh rate panels can be only found in higher end laptops a few years ago

Basically higher = Colours more vibrant. Compare side by side and you'll notice the difference

Need to have knowledge. Not to mention that sometimes panel source might change (though colour quality like sRGB will mostly remain - cannot suddenly jump to high sRGB if the model ONLY comes with low sRGB)

If you have the laptop, you can check via device manager
