First of all I would like to say I'm disappointed to Maxis nor Hotlink. During last month (10/11/2018) my mom's old phone spoiled so she consider to switch to a new phone (both of the phone are android) but during the switching process she need to replace her SIM to Nano-sim so I help her to replace the SIM through Maxis Kiosk system and it's pretty fast and easy. Previously she is using non 4G SIM which means she entitle for free 4G SIM replacement but after changing to new 4G SIM horrible things happen which she will get charge for using data every certain period of time even data is turn off and I even triple check all those setting to confirm there's nothing wrong with all setting included Emergency Broadcast Channel, MMS auto recieve and also try to stop all possible 3rd party (as you may refer from screenshot label as "Premium SMS").

After struggling for any possible solution so I visited nearest Maxis Center to seek for help and one of the staff told me there is only 1 solution to fix it which is upgrade to newest Hotlink Fast plan came with free basic internet. FIY my mom is a very lite user and even she did't use Data during outside and this is one of the MAIN reason we refuse to upgrade to latest Hotlink plan.

I hope Maxis/Hotlink gave us proper solution on this matter.

Below are some screenshot attached for your reference.

Old SIM lack of some old technology like 4G/3G.

So probably ur old sim is 2G only which made for calling only.

Anyway yes u can try call using 123. Or else u also can use other phone to call.

And force them to disable ur sim data usage can already.

This might solve nor temporary solve. Sometimes u went to area that using 3/4G then you will totally had no line.

So the best solution is force them disable ur number for internet (data) usage.

set to 3G worked also. it is better to set to 3G instead of 2G. good example is that if you go to lion city, set to 2G u will have no roaming becos lion city has no more 2G network.
