I can't stress this enough, NEVER ever buy fragrance based off famous youtubers like Jeremy Fragrance.

Why do people buy based on these youtuber top 10 list?

These people are from western country whereby their climate is cold, even during summer it is below 28c degrees for European countries and they are not humid like Malaysia.

I've seen many people buying YSL la'nuit del homme, dior sauvage, Blu De Channel etc. which are highly recommended by these youtubers but they din't realise these are winter fragrances. Imagine a fragrance design to withstand the cold climate being used in a hot humid country. Diu nia seng when that person start to sweat it smells worse than people with body odor because the sweat combines with the fragrance projection strength and sillage can freaking murder people being close to them.

Even some of their summer list fragrance doesn't seem to work in Malaysia because of the humidity.

I believe the best way to wear a fragrance in Malaysia especially during the day is to buy fragrance that are

1) Not sweet in anyway
2) Fresh fragrance (Citrus/floral/aquatic)
3) Little to no warm spicy notes, balsamic, heavy woody notes and other sweet or pungent notes.

If you doesn't sweat much and doesn't have body odor and work mostly indoors under air conditioning then maybe you can try their summer list but never ever buy sweet fragrances.

Another better way on buying fragrance is to actually go to the store, spray it on your hand and then judge it at after 12 hours.

Some people tend to buy based on the smell from the first spray (base notes). Base notes dies very quickly, what you are looking for is middle and end notes which will be the scent you will be smelling most of the time hence try to spray it on your hand, walk around or go home then only decide to buy the next day.

Also I just want to point out that the persona of "successful businessman with a masters degree in international business" that Jeremy portrays isn't actually real.

Jeremy fragrance is actually a single/dancer from a failed group called "Part Six".

TS,first spray is topnotes, thats the one that dies quickly.Basenotes is the one that smell the longest.
But you're right though.Never judge the fragrance by the topnotes only.

That seem a bit exaggerate sweat.gif
TS you might be surrounded by ppl that do not know how to use fragrance rclxs0.gif

I do enjoy watching youtube review on different fragrance, but will definitely test it out before buying it (mostly sweat.gif )
BTW, i do own all 3 frag u mentioned above, but i have no regret owning them.
Dior Sauvage did performed well in our hot and humid weather, i personally experience it with no issue. Not sure why u said is winter frag.
Blue De channel is my daytime nice office scent, no issue with them as well. (i work in air cond room).
Just YSL LA Nuit, use it on night time only, and depends on condition.

You just need to know your fragrance and how it react with you, then use the appropriate trigger. That is.

It doesn't affect you but it affects others.

You have no idea how these sweet fragrance smells like in hot and humid condition.

Some of my colleague wore those fragrance in the office and the smell is so sweet and pungent that it smells really unpleasant, even other female colleagues said so despite my office is really cold.

My theory is because when they put on the fragrance at home whilst travelling to the office, the sweat and heat actually destroyed the smell.

During lunch time when we need to go out and when it is blazing hot, those who wore fragrances design for winter or sweet and pungent fragrance, it instantly hit everyone nearby like a brick wall. Some of them who sweats more than others with body odor to top it off even worst, smell like sweet smelly pungent body odor. Throughout the afternoon in office, it stinks up the workplace.

Everywhere I go during lunch hour, I can smell those office workers thick and pungent fragrance smell, really makes me want to vomit.

So far, I only notice some guy that doesn't sweat easily can pull those fragrance off but it still smells overly pungent when that fella is not in an air conditioned place.

If you think it is ok because no one told you off doesn't mean it is actually ok. No one will ever tell you that you stink because it is common courtesy not to offend people about their smell. Should just pandai pandai sikit when wearing fragrance la.

Kinda agree here.

I have people commenting that some of my fresh scents smells like toilet cleaners and etc. And at the same time, there are people who complimented my heavy oud based perfume and said it smells wonderful.

Guess it's just how your body reacts with the perfume and how other's perceive it. There's no right or wrong honestly in the frag world.

Heck, my other half uses Ombre Nomade which is like concentrated oud perfume to work and all her colleagues complimented that particular scent.

In fact it smells nice even after the whole day under aircon at work.

hey bro u sure your colleagues didnt re-apply the fragrance after lunch ah rclxm9.gif
Usually those frag nowadays is so weak, that when reach around lunch time, it was barely smell it. At least for me, usually stay very close to my self.
I guess mayb your colleagues re-apply it heavily or "bath" in the fragrance doh.gif ,

i do understand some fragrance do not really appropriate for office..and trust me, i understand your feeling...
i do experience someone wear heavy arabic frag + ketiak odor + body odor that seat besides me, i nearly suffocated rclxub.gif

I always use appropriate frag with proper usage + deodorant, so far no complaint.
U can tell whether your frag will annoy ppl or not from their expression, no need ppl tell u one.

y dont u just tell them to reduce the spray laugh.gif
give some feedback to them ma...

I would know if they reapply. Top notes normally doesn't stink that much since most fragrance open with fresh citrus notes. Only when it hits middle notes or the end notes it fuses with sweat will come off really smelly.

It is weak only if you buy it from non official store. Bear in mind if you buy from shoppee or any place that claim that they are "authentic" apart from parkson/aeon/sogo/official boutique/official site, chances are you are getting AAA grade or worse. Pasar malam one confirm straight up low grade replica.

I've smell so many fragrance in my lifetime that I can tell apart knockoffs and authentic fragrance (Knockoffs below AAA grade). AAA grade is hard to distinguish because it smells just like the real thing but I guess the difference is the dilution which makes the performance very weak. Below AAA grade you can smell that they've added some other chemicals that smells like faint thinner. Pasar Malam knockoff is the easiest to differentiate because they smell different in terms of notes altogether (basically similar smell but completely different scent and notes) and they tend to have the generic dry down (basically mid and end notes smells like fragrant alcohol with little trace left of what it is supposed to smell like)

Perhaps my nose is sensitive but for those who sweat + sweet fragrance confirm smelly. Try spraying a winter frag on a tissue and leave it out on the sun for a good 10min, it will give you a pungent smell if you have a sensitive nose.

Some stuff don't have much sillage. Some don't have longevity. In fact, I'd be Keen to agree with the poster earlier who claimed a lot of newer stuff don't have longevity.
You never heard of reformulations is it. Not even between original and whatnot.

I also been in this game for a while now, am sure the stuff i brought is authentic...
I would not use those knockoffs on my self...
if that is the case, then most probably your colleagues just "bath" those heavy frag on them, mayb intends to cover their body odor...

hey, just politely tell them, no use you open thread here sweat.gif
your colleagues will not know one biggrin.gif
think on other way, you are actually helping them...

I could attest myself of the longevity of the frag is different. Even using eau de parfum sometime my frag does not last long. Im wearing 212 right now and the smell is almost gone.

Sometime the perfume does not suit our body i guess. I like bvlgari perfume but i find that the smell wouldnt last long. 4-5 hours max and im using eau de parfum. If u wanna say its a triple A product, well i do buy my perfume at the department store so i doubt they selling the imitation ones lol.
On the other hand, perfume like dunhill desire blue for me last a tad longer even though its just eau de toilette.

Maybe its just me...

Jeremy Fragrance entire persona seems like a sham.

He always portray himself as a successful office guy or businessman but in actual fact he is just some unknown singer from an unknown washed up boy band.

TS,

Comment on my frag laugh.gif

1. RL Black. Love this one, use it day or night only if i'm sure i'll be in a/c most of the time.

2. RL Double Black. Dunno why i bought this, bought it when my Black finished. Since i love Black thought it would be better, turn out i don't really like it, but still apply it every now and then.

3. RL Blue. Another one which i love, use it during day time. When i'm sure i will sweat or being outdoor most of the time e.g visiting the zoo with my kid. Even apply it for indoor use.

4. RL Ultra Blue. Lighter version of Blue for me. Same use as Blue, but day time indoor use only. Not strong enough for outdoor use.

5. D&G The One EDT. No hate or love, can't remember why i bought it and can really remember the smell also.

As you can see, most of my frag are RL. Maybe a safer choice or i just prefer their collection.

D&G The One definitely is one of the unique frag that I had owned and smell for a designer collection. Not good enough(performance wise) to love it, but surely like it.

You have lots of RL, I never own one from them.

Yeah, D&G not long lasting. Use it when i wanna smell different.

Maybe because my 1st frag was RL, so my collection revolve around it. Love the smell of CK Euphoria, but never own them.
