Yesterday TM called say, problem is fixed, but I check, still same!
it simply cannot use 8Mbps + 512kbps at the time,

this issue since 12/Oct, until now.

I do have Self Hosted Cloud and some cheap CCTV to access remotely.

List device and layout I use:
1. INNATECH-W7100N (borrow from kawan)
2. Riger DB120WL (modem TM)
3. Asus DSL-AC52U (i bought 2!)
4. ZTE ZXHN H267A (borrowed from technition TM)
5. INNATECH-W7100N/Riger DB120WL (Bridge) + Windows 7 (Share PPPoE)
6. INNATECH-W7100N/Riger DB120WL (Bridge) + Ubuntu 18.04 (pppd, NAT, iptables)
7. INNATECH-W7100N/Riger DB120WL (Bridge) + pfSense
8. INNATECH-W7100N/Riger DB120WL (Bridge) + Linksys EA7500
9. INNATECH-W7100N/Riger DB120WL (Bridge) + NEC UNIVERGE IX2105 [PPPoE fail]

Link Control Protocol.

His DSLAM pppoe server has issue. Maybe hardware or software related. Only TM can 'solve' it.

I am assuming that 8Mbps & 512Kbps is a totally different account & packages, and I noticed you are also running pfsense thus I also assumed that the LCP is configured in the pfsense. Then it should works out of the box if your configuration in pfsense is correct.

But I'm very confused of the total ADSL line you have there, possible to share a drawing of your network diagram so I can have more understanding, then from there also maybe I can find the bottleneck/root cause.

LCP is not control by TM nor do they block any, as I've 2 Unifi account + 1 Maxis + 1 TIME in the office here. Configured with LCP + QoS, the only difference here is I'm using VyOS instead of pfsense. But it should work regardless if its pfsense or not.

Do share the network diagram (briefly) to understand how your network is connected.

My ASUS Modem Router has log, so, it print remote initiate disconnect, useful to disconnect if user not paying the bill

I use iperf v2, 2 Upload + 2 Download at same time, to simulate busy day, like having HypptTV (UnifiTV), 3 PC, many smartphone, have some FTP upload, cloud sync, etc...

Last year, never have this problem, it happen at 12/Oct, really ruin the day, cannot use TV, only 1 PC at the time, I had to tell everyone, stay off wifi, and limit bandwidth to 6mbps DL, 100kbps UP.

There are no Bottleneck, new cable, new copper cable, even bought 2 same Asus modem, both give same result

Still no idea what's your network like, if you really want to do load balancing the easy way, try (https://www.peplink.com/) products.

Their load balancer is very good & highly recommended, else try VyOS.

WOW.... it did disconnects very often & re-connect back. It seems like packet drop just like that.

During the test, is there any other computers or network devices running ?

Maybe we can try the following :-

1. Disconnect all computers from the network (including wifi devices too).

2. Disconnect all WANs.

3. Connect 1st WAN first, & see is there any drops.

4. Disconnect 1st WAN & connect 2nd WAN, & see is there any drops or not.

5. Then try both WANs connections, is there drops or not.

6. Then start to connect each network devices, 1 at a time slowly & monitor it closely.

7. Lastly is the computers & wifi devices, also 1 at a time.

Somehow I think its still the configuration issues.

A. Another thing to take note also, the incoming cable for that ADSL, is it new ? I mean from outside into your home.
B. Do you have those ADSL Splitter installed ? If yes, try removing it.

Let me know your test results...

1. Yes, only test pc is connected

2. Done

3. Done

4. Done, no error, no drop

5. Yes

6. Yes... it will disconnect when I reached 8mbps bandwidth

7. I use Asus DSL-AC52U, Vyos, pfSense, ClearOS, NEC IX 2105

A. TM Technition just change to new copper cable, FOR FREE (they want close my case as fast as possible)

B. It's direct connection, see how good my SNR Margin
Attached Image

It just happen,

Every time I use 8mbps available bandwidth, PPP LCP from TM send a Disconnect Request, and PPP Client had to accept, I thinking to exploit PPP by ignore Disconnect request, stay connected all the time

Dont believe Asus Logging, I have Wireshark results:

To visualise:

YES, DSL is stable 100%

I tried, 1492, 1480, even 1446

PPPoE LLC
ATM 31*48 Full Cells 1488
AAL5 Trailer -8
PPP -2
PPPoE Header -6
Ethernet Header+FCS -18
LLC Header -8
Optimal Layer 3 MTU 1446

https://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/ADSL_Theory_PPP
https://www.sonicwall.com/en-us/support/kno...170505851231244

None of them are working, TM still sending termination request to ppp client after long use of 8mbps bandwidth

here the log I made my self, using vyos as router:

killall -9 iperf 2> /dev/null

echo "[INFO]: Hello!"

if pidof iperf > /dev/null; then

 fi

else

 echo "[WARN]: pppoe0 is down!"
 killall -9 iperf 2> /dev/null

done

Since they monitor my PPPoE dial activity, I do this when no one use internet

That is crazy. You are being disconnected and reconnected multiple times. Stupid question, but did you ever try using another modem router, and another cable? Just remove everything on your current network and use a different modem router, and a different cable, and see if that changes things.

Technician change new outdoor - indoor copper, for FREE
Technician lend me ZTE ZXHN H267A, same problem
Technician lend me Riger DB120WL, same problem
I bought 2 Asus DSL-AC52U, same problem.

Using Modem Bridge - Router:
1. NEC IX2105, cannot connect, improper peer PPPoE Implementation Protocol
2. Asus DSL-AC52U, still disconnect
3. pfSense, still disconnect
4. VyOS, still disconnect
5. ClearOS, still disconnect
6. Windows 7 Pro with Wireshark, still many disconnect!
CODE
Wireshark filter: pppoe || pppoed || lcp || pap || ipcp

Attached Image
As you see, without Asus Syslog, Wireshark tell the same, around 5 minute of 8mbps, 04:25:c5:96:f7:63 asking PPP client to disconnect... I just... WTF!?

is there any filter or capable to drop certain PPP LCP request? been 3 month TM no answer and no idea what to do.

I tried to ask for rebate, they say case need to complete then can rebate, currently I paying the full bill

As SKMM report, still on going

Technician come to my house from 10AM until 5PM, he change the each port, get DSL reading, high as 30dB, Att low as 8.6dB

I tried change password, still the same.

28/Dec/2018, TM from Seremban (not regular technician) come to my house, also check, and they also no Idea what cause 04:25:c5:96:f7:63 asking to terminate PPP client, they say my VPS server is problem, I told them I try using 4G, can hold 1 hour of iperf! I dare them to host iperf on any Unifi, I can guarantee it will disconnect

Today, I cant connect anymore, PPP error, cannot find port! I guess 04:25:c5:96:f7:63 banned me from connecting, since too many disconnect-reconnect...

ADSL already ancient technology for 2019, clearly TM no longer maintain ADSL or fix

Sad to hear that. There must be an issue with your line. There is probably degradation somewhere.

It must be a site-wide issue then, and they might have botched the installation of the physical infrastructure. Your only hope is that they start laying new fiber infra and decommission the current copper cables.

im afraid nothing can be done from your side, action is more on the provider side.

https://www.garethjmsaunders.co.uk/2014/03/...care-after-all/

anyway, kudos to your testing methodology, networking gear and tools involved.

yeah, is TM fault,
that link tell he have same problem like me, hahaha,

what I read, TM need increase more overhead for Down and Up Stream, because 1492 packet will get split into tiny ATM Payload, which is increase more overhead and out of sync

It is TM's fault. Unlike some ISPs i know, no ISP in malaysia maintains more than 1 PPPOE server and link per area, this means there are no redundancies and TM's PPPOE servers have a history of unreliability. Unlike with 1 ISP in the UK which i connected to 2 simultaneously improving my DSL throughput a little and with traffic going through whichever server was faster at the time as you also have load to consider.

2 possible cases for TM's problem, either their link is overloaded or their server is overloaded. This is why you are getting disconnects, and another possibility, poor server configuration which is to be expected in malaysia as they regard IT very poorly.

Also i find SKMM never respond, they are very ineffective, would rather just give the TM CEO a bad day instead in a more direct way.

Unless people start flinging eggs at TM's upper management or just peacefully protest outside their properties and send them peaceful physical messages, not emails or texts , maybe just overfill their house mailbox with angry letters as well, it should get them to change the way they run things at TM, because they always screw the customer over. I havent even gotten my turbo which was promised last year and am paying more than 300 a month. I need that extra upload that the turbo brings.

Reading further, you can write a script on asus routers using rmerlin firmware to ignore the disconnect request, it will take some research.
