Getting Started
|
This is not a difficult problem.
Just uninstall all the Canon printer driver.
Restart the laptop, connect the printer via USB. N scan for hardware changes. Auto install the driver using win10 driver tool.
Will settle. This is easy problem.

QUOTE(ihavenoidea @ Dec 10 2018, 06:56 PM) So all the usb port on your laptop are usb3.0? I think so. I tested on 2 TypeA USB port and 1 TcpeC USB port on my new Win10 laptop, all 3 of them have same issue. I check my company Win10 laptop, it also show the same USB3.0 eXtensible Host Controller and USB Root Hub (USB3.0) as my new Win10 laptop, but my company laptop no such issue.

See if that helps

I faced this exact problem last month. That specific Canon printer cannot support USB 3.0 port with windows 10. You can install, uninstall and all that. It would still not work. (Maybe my skill not power enough.)
It might very likely work with Windows 7. There is also a likely chance it would work with a USB 2.0 hub to trick it into working. (MAYBE because UNTESTED)
In the end, gave up on that printer and bought new one.
