hey im thinking of getting a cheap multi effects board for my godin sd ... im stuck between zoom g1x and g2

the g1x - rm300
- its made of plastic and looks really cheap ( not sure whether it'll last )
- it's got expression pedal

the g2 - rm400+
- foot switch made of metal
- newer model but no expression pedal
- its looks hotter and somehow i trust it more to last ( maybe it's because
the metal ....durgh)

which 1 do you think i should get... im trying to save as much money as i can

budget is about 500 less

Added on June 11, 2007, 5:19 pmi called ck music just now ...

they are about:
g1 - 250
g1x - 300
g2 - 350
g2.1u - 600

they said they can offer a little discount ... difference between g2 and g2.1u is 250 for just the expression pedal feature...and i dont have that much money right now ...

so i think i'll go for the g2 instead ... besides i still can buy the pedal for 150 ... so ill save 100

is it a good buy?

Expression pedals are very useful, you might want to re-consider.

It's EXTREMELY useful.... especially for a beginner who wants to dabble in FX..... I love 'em so much, I have 4.....
2 selectable ones from my Tonelab SE, A Wylde Wah, and a Digitech Whammy..... planning to add in a Rotovibe soon if money permits......

I too think that it's better if there is an expression pedal for you to experiment with on your first multifx.

if you're gonna spend RM500+ better go get a Korg AX1500G already. How much is it selling now? Previously promotion was RM560 i think.

i got the bass version which is bit B2.1u, its a great nifly gadget for its price, amp modulator, some decent effects and an expression pedal, its nice to drag around while gigging and mucking around in the jam studio.

i love the bundle cubase le software that comes with it and powered by USB if plugged it in and u can do recording straight into yer pc wit the amp modulator, etc.. its handy to do yer ownsongs. since its usb, the recording sound got no hiss, buzz, etc.. its really quiet!

theres a few useful effects in there for bass, the distortion is lacking for the bass and the compressor makes way to much noise but either that it a bang for its buck, the expression pedal can be very extremely useful. u can use it to control the amt of distortion u need, volume, delay, wah wah, etc.. experiment with it u be surpise

it allows you to set effects onto it and you can control the amount/strength of the effects using the pedal. (just like when you're driving, step all the way down to fully activate the effect biggrin.gif ) it also gives you that extra option that allows you to trigger an effect whenever you're playing through a solo or a riff..

commons effects used with the pedals are like wah, volume, pitch shifter, gain booster...
