Hi,
How often do you service the an automatic watch and how much does it cost to service it?
I am mulling on buying an automatic watch, however I am not sure if the cost is worth it. My quartz watch is still ok after 16 years. Changed battery about 5 times I think.

Different watch different answer Should probably specify which one to get a more accurate answer Yeah a Seiko 5 is below RM150, but a Tissot would cost more and so on Frequency of service also depends on usage: only wear for black tie events VS use everyday, wear while golfing etc.

I don't remember how much my dad paid for his omega and rolex service but i think more or less the same amount you paid for your ML. Btw i paid minor service for my Tag and Seiko for less than 500 only

Yeap, heard this too, should bring it for service atleast once every 5 years, they will clean the watch for you in a special machine and oil it up using different grades of oil for different parts.

You can bring your automatic watch for service when it starts showing signs of inaccuracy.

QUOTE(kiasunkiasi @ May 21 2024, 05:14 PM) you watch having many complications? else why RM3k so expensive? Normal service does not involve complications. They will change the seal, oil the movement, etc. The movement is not simple, hence not easy to service. La Joux-Perret hand/manual winding movement.
