Since this is a GrabPay related thread, I got question to ask.

If default payment mode is to GrabPay Wallet and it's running low balance. What happened if I scan and pay for an amount more than that?

1. Tranaaction failed?
2. Wallet is triggered for auto reload from the stored payment card?
3. Wallet balance deducted and short amount will be charged into payment card?

from this FAQs....
looks like the Auto top up functions needs to be activated first....
https://help.grab.com/hc/ms/360001916688-Ho...unch_path=N%2FA
*
So if auto reload is off, transaction will fail!

If auto reload ia on, (2) will happen?

(3) won't happen in any case?

from that link....
"........perform a one-time activation for Auto Top-Up, and never run out of GrabPay Credits again!"
*
But under Auto Top-Up menu, it'll be activated or initiated if wallet balance below amount you set.

Auto Top-Up amount can also be set to. Preset amount is 20, 50, 100 and etc.

So your post #10.....is actually a question ....i read as if it was a statement of info that you knew and shared

If it was a questions post.....
Then i hope others can tell you
*
I wanted to know how GrabPay Wallet handles such situation.
I'm not a frequent Grab user and no intention to have high balance in the wallet. The wallet is not able to cash out or withdraw also.

Beside from food related shop, where else we can use GrabPay?
*
I think they're targetting in F&B industry more as they hav GrabFood platform.
They want to challenge Fave.

Let say your txn is RM 20 but your wallet balance is RM15
So you need to topup for the txn to go thru

Auto reload will only apply if your txn after your txn go thru and the balance is below rm5(minimum) or any amount that you set
*
Yes. This is what I had expected even with the Auto Topup feature as from its menu, it's still rather "manual".

Does Starbucks accept GrabPay?
I didn't really see the logo displayed.

We can redeem SB rewards inside GrabPay.

Don’t think so, even don’t see any other e-wallet like FavePay, Boost. But they seem like offer Alipay?

WeChat pay is available
*
I think they only support certain only: AliPay, WeChat Pay, RavePay
They put those logos at the cashier counter

Boost and FavePay definitely not there.

Grab is piloting RM50 monthly subscription plan

URL: https://www.thestar.com.my/tech/tech-news/2...r-rm50-a-month/

Does the RM 50 monthly subscription plan worth?

Notice that the Grab app is updated to cater for this too!

Second time I use this GrabPay, this time around at coffee bean. I think if there is a long queue, paying by GrabPay just makes things worst. It is not seamless, we need to input amount etc. But luckily during the time, there's no customer. I was the only one.
*
With FavePay, you also need to key in the amount right?

Some merchant withdraw from grabfood and grabpay together, as i know grab took 10-30% commission on grabfood order and some didn't like it. (exception of some big one like Mcdonald)

According to Grab's website, it is possible to offset bill with GrabPay merchants using GrabRewards points. Anyone tried that? How is the conversion rate? How many points to convert to RM1 for example? I could not find more information about that.
*
When you about to pay (checkout after key-in the amount), it'll show at the bottom of the app.
I just found it this morning.

Just realise the reward points given using Grabpay at merchant is very high. I just spent RM21.40 in a dining place and get +321 points. At gold level.

Refer: https://www.grab.com/my/grabrewards/

Spending at merchant:
Gold level: RM1 = 15 points
Silver level: RM1 = 10 points

Spending on Grab apps itself (Grabcar or Grabfood) definitely a lot lower the points given. Less than half the above amount per RM.
And they seems to encourage people to use JustGrab / Grabshare by offering higher reward points there. Hmm...
*
They want to promote area that they're weak at.
Using GrabPay to pay at merchant offline store is definitely at the top.
