Shopping e-commerce such as shopee and lazada won't do this, if they really do this we can complaint to BNM as BNM has stated before any retail txn that involved merchant charging extra or need minimum spending can report to them

You are right, no extra charge allowed to pay Shopee and Lazada.

But not top up ShopeePay and Lazada Wallet which are not Shopping platforms.

the 1% cc reload fee were approved/sanctioned by BNM themselves la. now you see who's playing both sides biggrin.gif

the ewallet player and the industry as a whole, including BNM the regulator, is fully aware of this.

this is also why BNM only allows max 1% cc reload fee to be passed down to users because i) nobody approved to charge higher, ii) cost of financing is on average hovers around 1% MDR from the acquirer banks.

You'll have to top up at least RM 2.5k per year to offset the RM 25 SST.

well i'm sure people who are already holding grab card or those who are going to apply for one because of the 1% charge can use more than 2.5k per year.

This is from Affin's website. I just crossed those that have 1% charge on credit card reload. You still getting cashback for the reload.

i think they only can apply the 1% if users use the ewallet to wd money, if using it to pay items still consider retail txn

so far the 1% only apply on few pure e-money provider which got no e-commerce shopping platform like shopee/lazada
that's why till now shopee/lazada still figure out how to apply the 1% fee
hopefully only when we try to wd back to bank then only will charge that 1%

Between ShopeePay & Lazada Wallet, which has better merchant support? Or it's same as they support Duitnow QR?

Haven't used either of these wallets. Does Shopee or Lazada supports transfer to personal account (such as for payment to those food court stalls)?

ShopeePay can be used on any DuitNow QR. There is a bonus if the shop uses the actual ShopeePay QR because you can use Shopee coins.

Yes all Duitnow QR including non-merchant Duitnow QR (but the source of fund must be transferable, i.e. not from Credit card or Cash).
Pay to merchant Duitnow QR can be non-transferable fund (from credit card or cash).

Users must link a Mastercard® as a top-up method and top-up a minimum of RM100 in a single transaction into their GrabPay Wallet for ONE (1) time during the Challenge Period to receive RM4.90 cashback that can be used for a 1-month GrabUnlimited subscription fee  (“Prize”) in the form of a GrabRewards voucher(“Voucher”).
*
This RM4.90 CB can onlybe used to subscribe to GrabUnlimited? Already subscribed for a year before this, does this mean this challenge is no use to me or I could use RM4.90 CB for smt else?
