Accidentally spill water on my Macbook Pro, went to Mac City to troubleshoot. They recommended me to change my battery as it shown "Service Battery" but it is going to cost me at 1.7k. Any recommendation to do it cheaper or can I just buy a battery and DIY?

Please advise SIFUs!

Depends on the MBP model and year. Some are quite easy to replace the battery.

I think mine is either 2012/2013. Any where I can buy the battery? 1.7k is way off my budget.

2012 or earlier should be a simple 15 min job, the battery is removable, plenty of OEMs online. Price of the battery is between 100+ to almost 300.

2013 and later, the battery is glued in, a bit more difficult.

Check the model. If it's the earlier model, it's dead easy, I did it in under 15 mins. Just need the right tools. The later model is a bit more difficult but still can. Google.
