Its very hard to find empathy for people with above 8k salary trying to look poor.

Do you guys think the rest of us earn so much?

There are alot of us here earn less than 8k, and still have to pay bills, pay loans, feed their family. We all have to do that with less salary, some of us earn less than half of you 8k incomes, but you all complaining as if you guys 8k salary is barely can cover everything.

Man. What the actual fuck man.

Don't tell me you earn 8k, but drive old car, live in small apartment, never buy expensive smartphone, never go vacation, never eat expensive food, never go shopping and buy something expensive etc and all your money is used to pay loans, pay bills, feed family etc.

No. Sorry but no sorry. So many of us salary below 8k also can do it. But you 8k salary people struggle?

Why don't you guys give us low income earner some empathy instead.

The only thing that I think is wrong is that government want to do it right away on January which is too little time. That all.

Herein where the problem lies. Repayment of the PTPTN loan is the lowest of priorities to you because it's only a 1% interest and there was option given to you by the previous government to drag it out as long as possible. Although it's entire possible to finish repaying the loans much earlier, you decided not to because you do not care. I repaid my loans before they were due because it wasn't just a loan to me, it was to pay it forward to ensure that OTHER PEOPLE WOULD HAVE THE SAME OPPORTUNITY TO FURTHER THEIR EDUCATION.

The are even some mutherfuckers in here who views it as easy credit, saying that it's financially wiser to take advantage of the lower interest rate and invest it elsewhere. You bastards are the problem, it's a freaking education loan and it only works if everyone pays back what they owe. The previous government fucked it up with the repayment options, YOU DON'T HAVE TO.

I don't get it with the siege mentality that it is you against the defaulters. You've got the moolah, you fucked up your priorities and it's the defaulters' fault?

Having said that, 1.2k is kinda steep but RM8k guys definitely shouldn't only be paying RM300.

Hey, it's not fair to those ppl who have set up direct debit too. Everyone have got their commitment, they have fixed xxx for ptptn repayment, and ptptn accepts it. And now just because country no money, ptptn no money, they can say, oh feck u guys, u guys gotta pay more. WTF?

What's the difference if u have a car loan, and u pay on time every month, u didn miss, u didn pay extra, coz u have plans and committed plans already with ur income. And then suddenly bank say oh this year we dont have money, so u guys must pay according to our new rate. WTF woi.

I'm sorry but this is not how u do things. You dont just put a blanket and say feck the rest. Very poor PR and strategy from ptptn. Altho i do agree that those defaulters or those that does not even pay minimum deserves it.

yes, it is an unfortunate scenario indeed.. the payback amount can be further fine-tuned to not create such a big impact..

however, when a debtor has the means before they took out more loans, they should always strive to pay off existing loans first..

PTPTN was a scheme to assist borrowers that were not well to do, not a financial instrument.. or do u agree if the government increases the interest rate to 10% for all existing loans to recoup losses and only carry out this new repayment scheme for new loans?

Yea, I think this can still be fine tune. Perhaps something like, it only applies to those who did not pay 3 months in a row or something. But I'm not sure if they are willing to add this new filter / rules. Seems like it's troublesome and also there will be loophole. Like ppl can just pay 1 month, wait for 2 month, then pay on 3rd month.

Hope they can find a win/win situation without affecting ppl who are paying on time and right amount.

yeah, i believe they will further improve the way this is handled. They could also set up teams as there may be real scenarios whereby helping family members is taking up a large amount of money and unable to fork out so much extra money.. but it is hard to handle each case separately..

But.. for those that are just fighting to keep their existing payment amount due to the 1% interest.. i implore you to please be a better citizen and not a selfish one..

I was looking at this one.
http://lampiran1.hasil.gov.my/pdf/pdfam/Jadual_PCB_2018.pdf

If you go to 7996 - 8000 a month, pcb is 680. i confused liao

i think this is quite accurate as it takes into accounts all the tax exemption and deductible amounts.. when u earn rm100k per year, doesn't me your taxable income is rm100k.. usually it's closer to 80k.. which is at the rm680 bracket..

RM5,600(70k) + RM2,100 (10k *21%) = RM7,700 ~ RM640 per month.
