Thank god this won. I was worried Disney bias is still strong among the Oscar's judge when it comes to animated feature.

Well BP has no business to bag so many awards so Disney's well spent campaigning moolah still in full effect.

It was ok.

The comedy reminds me of Deadpool.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

My review, spoiler-free (unless you click on them).

What a ride.

It starts out quite expository and then slowly builds up to the whole spider variants/multi-versal thing. And once that happens, phew, it is an almost non-stop ride.

Bear in mind this is Part 2 of 3, so there are plenty of loose plot points (and characters) that might get closure in the 3rd part.

The animation is absolutely wild. In fact, it can get "too wild" to the point you may not be able to discern what's on screen - - for me it is not a problem, since my seat was right at the back.

Funny enough, I felt this might be a problem to some and it indeed does occur: https://wegotthiscovered.com/movies/is-acro...viewers-to-see/

So be warned, if you're photosensitive, you might need to take a break or avert your eyes (or worse case, skip the movie).

Clocking it at around 2 hours 10min-ish, once the movie picks up the pace, as mentioned it is quite a relentless ride.

I don't know how or what else to comment without spoiling too much, but let's just say you do get a nice dose of "multiversal Spideys" though it still comes to just a few at the forefront (with regards to contributing to the main plot points).

The music is upbeat and highly stylized just like the animation style, and the voice acting is absolutely stellar. Oscar Isaac completely nailed the character of Miguel O'Hara. And the suit, damnn.... looks cool AF.

Big questions and probably something on your mind - - is Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield or Tom Holland involved in the film in any capacity?

So yeah, there's some crazy stuff that goes on. If you're into this kind of Marvel flick, you are in for an absolutely amazing time. There are also plenty of references to the Spider-Man comics which I'm sure article sites are already on it by the dozens.

It does end with "To be continued" rclxs0.gif

This one gets a really good 9/10 from me. I really wish we saw more Spidey variants in action especially the crazier ones (you won't believe some of them!) + since this is part 2, the ending is a bit anti-climatic but overall, an amazing experience.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023)

Bar the second Venom movie, Sony's Spider-verse movies are showing Disney-Marvel the lost art of storytelling.

The origins story of Gwen Stacy/Spier-woman i great!

Hollywood's de-coupling with China is very displayed (in a good way).

I really like this movie.

There were parts I was concern about how long the movie was

I hope Sony can continue the great story telling.

I highly recommend this!
