I was browsing ebay.com.my looking for any deals for ibooks and found this posting:

I recognised the images as coming from one of the guys selling his ibook here. I managed to trace the forum thread here:

At first; I thought they were the same one person and was merely disposing of it via ebay as plenty others have done and proceeded to bid for it. After making bids, the next day my bids were erased by the seller and the current bid was a much lower amount. He left his e-mail so I dropped him an e-mail saying I bidded a higher amount but i'm not sure what happened to my bid. He replied asking me giving me his contact details because he said I was the 2nd highest and he felt that the highest bidder would FFK the deal and he would then deal with me if that was the case. My bid was RM1300.

I said OK and didn't think anything about it; except that I noted his location was Malacca and he mentioned that he would have to courier the item down and charge an extra RM50. The next day I asked him what the status was and he mentioned still no contact from the winner and he would give it to me. I told him i would pay him a deposit(RM150) and that I will pay the rest next week; subject to his IC number being given to me after I made the deposit. He reluctantly agreed to it and only said yes after about a 10-15 minutes lapse.

I had a strange feeling about this especially since he re-iterated that his location was Malacca which is strange because the guy (liquid_ooze) posting it in LYN has clearly stated multiple times and posts that he was from Johor. Especially since the photos were the same. I went through the ebay seller's previous deals and how he obtained his current feedback and they were all from brand new members with no feedback until he also gave them one each. That and the fact that the 2 selling threads were almost identical made me more suspicious. As I had his number; I checked the number with liquid_ooze's posted contact number (which I had to search multiple threads to find). Since it was not the same; I suspected something was amissed. I posted in liquid_ooze's thread and PMed him the link to look at; since liquid_ooze seemed to be the real owner as he also had a friend verify on the thread that they knew each other.

This (saturday) morning; I received a reply from liquid_ooze both via PM and on his thread confirming my suspicions. I have also forwarded the contact details to liquid_ooze for his and everyone's caution. I have also smsed the ebay seller telling him I found out an exact duplicate thread with the same photos and same description on LYN so as to allow himself to explain himself, but have not received a reply from him.

PLEASE be careful when dealing with sellers especially if it's not COD. Do some background research first and if it sounds too good to be true; it probably is. Sorry for the long story. Without much ado; his personal details:

ask him to put watermarks on his pictures..if not sure kena again

luckily u done your homework. else, rm1500 gone already. another scamming case...

glozz, great work.

Note to all u guys: if u attach ur image instead of using image to image bucket/imageshack etc u will notice a little watermark created at the bottom the right of the image. But of course it is better to create a large but non obstructive mark in the centre of the image just in case.

Do not deal with emailed reply from someone from eBay that claiming he is the one who sell the certain item you are looking for. Ive been persuaded by this type of email for several times but i took action to avoid from replying them.

One of my two cents, be careful when dealing on eBay. try to look for higher feedback numbers and of course near to 100% positive feedback.

why don't you tell him you will COD with him at Melaka. Tell him your friend is going to COD for you. Let's see how he try to pull out of this.

Well; considering he's stopped replying my last sms; I doubt he would do any different lorr. I was thinking of doing that; but after finding out he's a fake, too lazy lorr.

all his feedbacks is another account that made by him... So damn fake.. haha

Lol, he really rate himself, u see the rating time, all 3~5 minutes different except 2 of them LoL...

The ebay malaysia, really not safe. I strongly advice COD Is the best way!! Last time i also meet a con man, keep asking me to send him the stock first without any payment!!
