Its getting real guys... for PLASMA fans, it is the time for an upgrade. OLED tv is getting more affordable. But unlike PLASMA where Panasonic is the only way to go.. i think OLED has a somewhat on a level playing field between LG panasonic and Sony.

I will be upgrading my 7 year old Pana Plasma for an OLED next year. appreciate if any OLED user can share their experience. ANd any retailer to share any OLED tv offer offer here.. at least we all can gain something.

Its truly hilarious when you have to link random youtube video from random youtube creators just to "clarify " something.

You don't really know how do they manufacture microLED , do you ? Even then , there are still massive challenges to be overcame with microLED displays right now .
Production cost and due to the extremely complicated mass transferring process , it had to be made with duo pixels at once , causing pixel problems to be visible on screen especially for higher resolution displays.

The fact that , the only con you are saying about OLEDs is the burn-ins . Let me guess, You never have an OLED TV before , have you ?

Or if you can't wait , Samsung 's " THE WALL " is available on the market for pre-order now , won't cost you so much more than RM500k .
Or perhaps you can wait for their commercialized version , might not take you longer than ... say 5 ~ 9 years.

Please , this is a professional forum. Don't reply with your conventional /ktards wisdom here , doesn't work.

ok.. so need feedback from some serious oled tv user... i am leaning towards panasonic OLED tv. but everyone kept saying LG is better. is it better?

On a different note, these burn in thing is almost the same issue 7-8 years back with plasma. a lot of people were saying dont buy plasna because of this. but i've been using it and it haven't happen to me... yet. maybe because i mainly watch movies and streaming various provider, not just stuck at one channel. so no major logo stuck at the screen yet.

even then testing the tv 24-7 will heat up the screen and it'll be more prone to burn in. why do you want to switch on the tv 24-7?

You really have to see it with your own eyes, from what I know LG uses more contrasty approach on their OLED lineup while Sony more cinematic and natural looking. OLED panel mostly produce by LG hence not much difference in panel spec. I personally prefer Sony X1 Extreme/Ultimate more than others. Not to mention Sony using Android TV which get apps updated pretty frequently.

I think you might be wrong about that .

We , the LG OLEDs owners are not biased towards the brand but it is a fact that LG is still the most competent OLED brand in MY as of today. They went as far as to offer 2 years of warranty against Burn Marks ( burn-ins ) and is often priced at a much lower price against the other brands .

Modern TV standards have already been set way higher than what it was a decade ago. You can't just have the most perfect ( there is no perfect TV ) picture quality and ignoring all the other aspects .
It has to run on great OS , offering great control over the TV , great designs and among other features , great support from the manufacturer itself .

The OLED TVs , by nature are all very identical . All of the current large OLED screens are supplied by LGD ( LG Displays ).
There is nothing concrete that suggest the Sony OLEDs are more cinematic and natural looking , but we can see the principles of the brands from their approach in OLED.

Sony's OLED is the king of picture processing while the LG's OLED is taking the lead in HDR , the Panasonic is undefeated in colors accuracy .
Any other difference found between the brands primarily come from the processing unit.

As much as we keep stressing on these difference , for most people they are not very noticeable unless you are comparing these TV side by side.

We are always going to see deviant who bought the other brands , running around preaching “omg the Sony is look much SHARPER , the Panasonic look so much more COLORFUL , the LG look so much BETTER "
Most of them are nothing but hyperbole.

I am hesitate to reply in posts like this because I notice it will has a long term effect of swaying people towards a certain brand . I would still very much like to see all the OLED brands " flourish " equally in MY.
But right now , there are hardly any competition at all.

p/s : the X1 extreme models are getting old by now and the sluggish and slow to respond android OS doesn't help either . If you are serious about buying the Sony OLEDS , get their latest AF9 which features the X1 Ultimate chipset .
