My Free Version of Avast Antivirus is expiring this month, any free antivirus to recommend?
At the same time do I need to uninstall the Avast Antivirus software before installing the new free antivirus?

Or if you use Windows 8.1 / Windows 10, you can use the Windows Defender
That's the native anti-virus for Windows 8.1 / 10

Been using it for 5 years, my computer has never been infected

I second this. If you don't always keep clicking all sorts of unknown exe from prawn sites or chinese sites, it is very rare you will get infected past the Windows Defender.
