i just bought a new iphone Xr 64gb red SG set..
this phone is pretty damn hottt and sexyy . love it.

Oh my god... i just realize my phone got a big defect on the screen.. i just had time to peel off the plastic at shop to apply the tempred glass.. and discovered this... what should i do.
Its like the coating itself had been damaged and dunno why..

Holyshit... in so unlucky... 😭😭😭😭

edited : Had a chat with Apple advisor from apple.com .. was told that definitely the manufacturing defect (oliophobic coating issue) and entitled for an exchanged... will update again tomorrow after bring it to the service centre.. finger cross.

Day 8 of owning Iphone Xr (except it's now still in the store for repair since day 1). lmao!
What a pain in ***.

They promised an 1 to 1 exchange... now is waiting for a new stock from the warehouse.. sad.gif

Yeah.. they gave me tracking no UPS, and the phone now traced from singapore -> today in ShenZhen, China already.. when they said gonna give me a new one from warehouse.. never thought its gonna be that far away.. lol

Soo.... here's the full story

16/4 - bough my new iphone xr, received it via parcel and activated warranty. BUT, i didn't the plastic that was covering the screen - since i didn't have time to play around yet.

17/4 - went to shop to apply TP, noted the defect. contacted seller / Apple advisor from Apple.com that night, both asked to go to nearest service centre and get a replacement

18/4 - went to the curve Machines, after had a chat with the guy over the counter, he mentioned that eventho the phone is under warranty, since only the screen defect, they'll only change the screen, not applicable in Malaysia for 1-1 exchange (wtf, i had to raise my voice inside..zz).

So i surrendered the phone and straight call Apple Malaysia, told them what happened with some explaination. (Of course laa tak puas hati.. the defect was out of the box.. not even use it yet).

So Apple told me to wait on Monday (since Singapore holiday also on Good Friday) for the news...

22/4 - received call / email from Apple that i'm entitled for a new phone and to wait for the replacement. Received the UPS courier tracking no ( tracking from Singapore to ShenZhen.. and back to Malaysia straight away)

24/4 - my phone arrived and Machine call me to pick up the phone. (yay)

25/5 - Picked up my new iphone and i'm also allowed by Apple to keep the old box with all the stuffs (thx Apple!). And my phone also now is MY set instead of SG set with warranty restarted from 16/4 --> 24/4.

Well I'm very glad to have my new phone and i'm very thankful to Apple for listening and taking it professionally with my problem.

Nice right? I've been using the XR for past few months and really satisfy with the overall performance. In fact, the battery is just too good that i don't have to bring any charger / powerbank and still have enough juice to return home for charging.

and the camera is pretty accurate with the color and tone. Might losing with the zoom features to the other phone but otherwise, every pictures look nice and good.
