Well, the Air pod is never about sound quality. I dont think any ear buds will ever surpass an in ear monitor design like the Jaybirds because of poor sound isolation.
Unless the Air pods 2 can come up with a state of the art noise cancellation tech in the near future.

Comfort is Subjective, I personally prefer In ears because of better sound isolation but some find the ear buds design more comfy, less intrusive or more hygienic.

What interests me most about the Airpods is the whole ecosystem..how seamlessly it connects to any Iphone or any I devices. The WH1 chip is unmatched. The only other wireless earphones that have this chip currently are some of the Beats offerings, Also owned by Apple. Sadly, no other third parties company employ this WH1 chip in their earphones.
