Good for u, I found out one more things on my faulty XR. I try cool it down by place it into a air conditioned room and the unit work fine for the Face ID and I even can set up new Face ID.
But when it on data/ WiFi / or idle, the unit turn warm and battery drain like 10% in an hour. The Face ID failed again.
Guess mine really have serious problem.
Damn.....really disappointing with these issue appearing.

You have little choice but to bring it back to the service centre to check. They’ll most likely give you a replacement set.

Yeah, will do it after raya holiday. Just wondering will they entertain me since mine set is HK version and not MY set. Aready contact T&L seller and guess what!!??
They gave me bullshit reason the buyer info not match their receipt invoice in system. Damn it, I’m the owner and purchase from account Qoo10. Email is mine, name is mine, contact number is mine. I’m the one who open boxing and registered in apple.com and the Apple ID is my email.
So stress and annoying.

If I’m lucky enough the switch apple reseller give me a replacement set, but is not dual sim but esim version which different from my current model, should I take the deal???

APR might not entertain you since it is not a local set. If they do, getting a local set replacement is your best option. For me, eSim is even a better choice than dual sim, local telcos are slowly adapting it.

Check this post on how this bro manage to claim warranty from Apple's authorised service centre here for his HK iPhone. Just log a call to Apple Support and tell them you got the phone as a gift or while you were in HK for vacation. But yes, the replacement set will definitely be a MY eSim set as dual physical sim HK sets are not authorized for sale here by MCMC and SIRIM.

Update:
Chat with a apple.com advisor and I mentioned mine HK set and they did a remote diagnostic on my set and result my set need service and refer me couple apple switch reseller shop address to drop by for checking. Guess it’s a good sign since T&L customer support were so so so slow response. I got my case number report too. Should I print out the chat report and bring along with me to apple reseller to claim as apple advisor advised me to drop by their shop?!
What should I do when sent the set for claim? Reset the set before or after they checking?
Thank you guys for all the info and input here.

Yes, with your Apple case number the service centres can't reject your case when you drop by. On the negative side is that you do lose the dual physical SIM though, but I guess it's a good trade off smile.gif

Yeahh, hopefully can claim a new set, so troublesome now battery drain like shit and overheating issue, can’t put into a case or else more heat.
Have to unable the Face ID feature now, so annoying.

Hi,

My Xr suddenly cannot connect thru internet using mobile data. Using wifi okay. Call also okay. Anyone have the same issue?

Try reset network and restart a few times still the same.

Anyone notice the battery health drop quite fast once it hits below 95%. It took some time to drop from 100%-95% but once reach 95 it drops to 94, 93, etc.. pretty quick
