I don’t think it cuts off completely, more like it draws minimal power or trickle charges while still connected. These cables have sensors that cut off the power supply when the battery is full.

And no, they aren’t MFI certified.

No wonder they came out with the fugly battery case...

They replaced 11 million batteries last year (and they are blaming that for the poor iPhone sales)
