hihi.. i plan to get 1 roborock for myself... i asked taobao seller about s50 model, they always dont recommend to buy outside than china and say wont connect...

i got my mijia app connect to china region for all my gateway and smart switch... can u help to confirm that roborock china version(s50) will work with mijia app china region in malaysia??

there is no S5 Max china set.. in china S5 max = T7..

i'm in your situation previously. i did a lot research on internet and ask most of the shop that selling S50 in taobao, guess i can share you my finding...

for roborock vacuum only S5 series able to use outside of china.
Manufactured date 04/19 confirm will work outside china. Newer batch 05/20 seller do not sure as no ppl try before.
As of now only have S51 stock from 04/19, most of the S50/S55 will be newer batch 05/20.

So if you really wish to connect to Mijia China region S51 is ur best bet.

As for Xiaomi Mijia STYJ02YM, if you have the budget i will recommend you look for roborock. This model is not manufacture by Roborock, if you can read chinese you can search on china site they did comparison with roborock s5. Mijia STYJ02YM is not as smart as S5 and often go haywire when sweeping.

I do have 50+ Mijia devices connect to china region but i gave up buying china version of vacuum bot and get S6 MaxV during 7.7 sales.
Reason being
1) for my usage i will only need to setup once, do room labeling , no go zone and scheduling one off then the vacuum will work it own so is ok for me not to automated it with mijia home.
2) i worried that someday some firmware update might cause china version not to able to use outside china
3) the price of u getting S5 in china, u will be able to get S5 max during sales here with 1 year warranty

1. i could not really tell u the different as i dont have S5 Max but from the review i've been reading S6 Maxv have intelligent obstacle avoidance the rest should be pretty much the same.

i would recommend you just to grab S5 Max it will works great unless u really need the intelligent obstacle avoidance, else i see no point spending extra 1699 vs 2059 for just this function. i grab s6 maxv cause on sales is like 1699 vs 1799.

Ecovacs OZMO 950 in china is Ecovacs T5 Neo/Max. If possible avoid this model, you can check on china site having bad review and not recommended.

if u can read chinese.. u can google 科沃斯 T5 plenty of bad review you can check..
most ppl complain is the AI and build quality..
