Just used boost at pak kin pak san cafe. Almost can't use because said the payment terminal hang during peak hours. Afterwards tried again then ok.

Not sure if this is a boost problem because the credit card terminal also same issue.

Even the normal mom and pop stationery shop near my place is Boosted! biggrin.gif

Btw there's something Boost has to improve on, which is the sensitivity level for shaking rewards...

Every time when I wanna show the "Success" screen to confirm my payment, I gotta be careful and close the pop up cuz even a slight movement can trigger the shake, it's just too sensitive.
*
Would like some pictures of this mom and pop stationery shop. I don't see any near my place.

Too bad 7-11 and family mart no boost yet.

What kind of picture lol? It's just a small ordinary stationery shop, not the big ones.

Doubt 7-11 is gonna accept Boost anytime soon cuz they still gotta stick with Razer Pay even if nobody uses it, but I'm hoping for Familymart.
*
Store front with boost sticker? Guess i have a fetish lol.

Razerpay i think is a bit dead? 7-11 accepts alipay so the system is definitely there to support boost or tng e wallet.

Familymart i thought one time i saw the cashier scanning some qr code though. Probably alipay.

Personally I think Grab is still losing behind.

I think bnm or the government should take more action to encourage mobile payment usage. Thought we already have a unified qr code in place like in Singapore?

all integration is done by GHL, they've been actively integrating with ewallet players into their system, so that their POS merchants "instantly" gets connected to variety of ewallet. without GHL's part, each merchant need to integrate directly with each ewallet, which is tedious, time consuming, etc.
sometime next year. this year is early stage of ICTF which encompasses few payment initiatives.

duitnow is actively promoted because banks are "forced" to go live by year 2018  laugh.gif

Good to know. Our market needs a serious push on mobile payments. Just a matter of time I guess.

Yes old town is boosted but whether the staffs knows how to use the terminal is another story.

The foreign staff/waiter literally told me don't know how to use the boost terminal lol.

Give them some, I believe Old Town just got Boosted recently.
Luckily the ones in Leisure Mall branch are all locals, even the supervisor was there...

It was quite funny though...

I asked "boleh pakai Boost?", I was expecting a rejection or something, but the supervisor said "boleh, boost boleh touch n go e wallet boleh alipay pun boleh, so u nak pakai yg mana?" biggrin.gif
Terminal is from iPay88, it's similar to the one launched by HLB...

Accept e wallets in one device.

Good to see more places using those all in one terminals. Now to convert those small hawkers to use mobile payments.

Talked to a friend who is a pasar malam seller. One concern is the time for the money received transferring into their business account. Is it still 2-3 days?

I thought the money will be transferred directly to the merchant's bank account in the next working day?
*
She told me because not banked in next day and that's why might have cashflow problem for small hawkers like them. Well she's not the most IT savvy so she might be wrong.

Also said boost system always down and stuff. Hard to confirm what she said. Any business owners can confirm?

not same-day settlement. either T+1 or the usual T+2. if boost late process payment (eg after 5pm), then +1 more business day to "see" the money.

this only happens on first few days of business. on subsequent days, seller still get money in their acct, but for past 1-2 days' sales, but perceived as "daily".

most sellers don't like ewallet because of this as they prefer cash for material purchase which is also in cash term.
*
Right i see what you mean. Getting the small hawkers to accept e wallets as alternative will not be easy.

small hawkers who depend heavily on cash flow like that prove that their businesses really can't tahan. I have asked some hawkers in pasar malam too. some answer they checked once a week because most of the time e wallet will not show immediately. they mentioned there are delay but that doesn't bother them.

while some who quit from boost, mentioned they can't accept the delay of the cash.

so yea. good business but low cash flow. some are have multiple team on different areas of hawkers place. but those who rely on only 1 team will suffer.
*
Wonder if there's a solution to this.

went to Nando's and used Boost, while waiting for my takeaway, I saw at least 6 - 7 customers paying with either cash or debit card only, all transactions over RM30++ . No Boost at all, seems like they don't know paying with Boost can get shake reward and win cashback ..

We still got a long way before people get used to mobile payments.

I do hope that they could integrate the payment system into their POS system. Sometimes have to wait for the cashier to boot up the payment terminal.

It’s the external barcode scanner that’s having problems and only affect payment via e wallet

This is just bullshit. Would somebody go complain to boost?

Damn, I'm starting to see merchants trying to fool around with customers by imposing a minimum amount on paying with Boost...

The PKPS Cafe in Times Square that I usually go to actually refused to let me pay with Boost cuz my meal was under RM 10...

I asked the cashier "you sure?", and he replied "yes" with full confidence, it's a foreigner staff so didn't bother to argue further cuz of the language barrier...

Reported to Boost and let's see how they reply.

UPDATE: They replied as below, and the response was quick...
Hope they really took some action.
*
These jokers all playing a fool. Everybody must report when you see one. Minimum amount defeats the whole point of using e wallets.

Nope, the staff was indirectly saying "I dunno how to use".

It's a typical excuse from ignorant staffs, don't know how to use but blame on the system instead. I would actually forgive if the staff is honest enough and admit it, but a big no to their BS excuses.

Which makes it super annoying. Malaysia how to maju...

I would cancel the pay when they refused to accept boost LOL.. Been there.. Done that.. Now the store I go for 99 promotion is going good so far. No complaint.. Anyways, last cashback credited 2 days later. So far so good.
*Sharing and hoping less complaint.. I wish to see more constructive and beneficial comments about boost use..
*
I did notice that there are more pasar malam hawkers accepting boost, which is a good sign. Hope the no need to bring wallet out to pasar malam dream can come true soon.

I wonder when can see waiters wearing qr code tag for payments.

Another thing I noticed is that boost takes a little bit longer to process yesterday (one time at pavilion and one time at Mytown). Not sure if it is their server cannot cope with the volume of transactions.

If my memory does not fail me, cashback which will be credited on Sunday will be moved to Monday, and some cashback will need more than one day to be processed so no harm to wait until monday noon..?

They have posted the boost locations on their webpage for some time:
https://www.myboost.com.my/places/
*
I'm talking about payment processing not cashback. A little slow to process after payment.

Maju takes time, and it's up to three sides (consumers, users, government) to achieve it together.
*
If only our government dare to do it like India (took out all big money denomination) and make a big push for mobile payments as alternative payment.
