Participating merchants, which means not every merchants there are Boosted.

I doubt all merchants in Mytown will accept Boost for the time being, there's always one stubborn outdated merchant of the bunch.

Haha why purposely go to Mytown for Nando's?

But I'm hoping that Mohd Chan there accepts Boost, I'm quite frequent there.

Tried to use Boost at PKPS Cafe in Sunway Velocity, but the cashier said no cuz "machine broken"...

Funny thing was I came here like couple of days ago and it was fine...

Ended up using Bigpay, but the card terminal couldn't even do Paywave, only PIN.

I wonder what they'll say if you tell them you don't have any cash or card with you.

I was at TGV this morning & told them I wanted to use TnG eWallet. The counter lady told me that I can only use TnG eWallet if I wanted to buy 2-ticket-for-1-price promotion but I was there alone. She asked for cash or card & I told her I only have eWallet so it's either TnG eWallet or Boost.

Unfortunately Boost was down so she went behind the counter, talked to some guy & finally agreed that it's possible to use TnG eWallet to pay for a single ticket.

I guess sometimes you gotta pressure them a bit or else they'll be adamant in coming up with lame excuses. sweat.gif

They expect everyone must have sufficient cash with them. Same experience at Absolute Thai where the cashier told machine spoilt and not even trying, just waving the terminal in hand said not that he don't want to let us use, maybe he was right, who knows. End up no choice paying cash also doh.gif

I'll probably go full blast mode if they even refuse to let me pay by card, but since they let me pay by card, it's still acceptable...

But I surely hope what that cashier said was true (also looks like a new dude there but the senior was there as well), the Boost terminal indeed wasn't at the counter which it was around a couple of days ago, and they did indeed covered the big Boost sticker at the counter, only saw the RM 1,000,000 cashback thingy sticker on the POS system...

I'll pay them a visit again soon, if still the same problem, then it's time to stir things up.

Btw, your case with using TnG in TGV is worse, they're seriously treating TnG as some sort of coupon redemption app instead of an e wallet, that's just ridiculous.

Bought the regular popcorn combo with Boost at TGV.
Shake reward is 20 cents.
The lowest I received so far.

The cashier face already turn dark, since amount only RM30+ and ppl queuing behind. He purposely speak loudly the amount like hinting 'it's only RM30 and pls pay by cash and there are ppl queuing ppl u wanted to pay' which make me feel embarrassed.

it is not about boost only, but i have similar encounter with a merchant’s staff who treated ewallet as promotion card/app

recently i went to eggette lab mid valley to have the mobile buy 1 free 1 promotion. i saw TnG ewallet sticker at the counter. when i wanted to pay Rm8.60 for the item using TnG ewallet, the cashier immediately told me that promotion item must be paid by cash only. i told her ewallet is also considered one of the cash payment methods, but she argued that i cannot pay “ promotion with promotion ”. haha alright, i just paid with cash since there was a queue behind me. i passed her Rm100 note and she said she didnt have small change. i told her that’s the only cash i had, then she reluctantly changed the money for me.

I uaed Boost at TGV Station 18.
They're friendly.
I asked what special terminal is that?
They said it's for TnG E-wallet & Boost.
