If a user search a topic in search engine, eg: google.
Will my blog be included in the results as well, if the search topic is relevant.
Do i need to add my blog to the search engine's database ?
How to do that ?
or is it automatically added?

have a look at my site. on the lower right side (dark column, bottom portion) you'll see a link to SiteMeter.

you can use that one to keep track of your site. another things you can use is Google Analytics.

As for the counter. there are quite a few free ones out there. i just don't have them off my head now, you can google up "web site counter" or something like that.

You can choose to have it added automatically (slower) or add it yourself. To add to Google, try this Add your URL to Google

If you want a counter which is good and real time. I wuld recommend Google Analytics, which is invisible. The other that shows number will be Stacounter. It is real time as well, even more precise than Analytics in terms of digging out details like users' browser types, screen resolutions, java enability and so on.

Good luck in blogging... wink.gif

don't expect some miracle to happen. to have your site to appear in search engine takes more effort than that. smile.gif

you'll have to find out search engine works these days.

ya you are right. it really is a miracle if my empty blog get listed on search engine.
i tried searching goldfries and yp and both sites are listed !
i think i need to add more content to my blog...

i understand that search engine uses some spider/crawler thing to crawl to your page. therefore after i add my url, just have to wait till it crawl to my site ?

Simple Life of YP is much longer in existence.

you should add content from time to time. don't have to be every day la.

It will take days for your site to be added into their database. Just sit back, relax and blog. The spiders will crawl to your site via links... you do have people linking to you don't you?

Or, if you are using Wordpress, you can try the Google Sitemaps plugin. Google for it.

Well, to get others to add you easily, go out in hunt for link exchange. To go the harder but better way, blog good contents and people will link to you if they wanted to give a post long comment on your topic.

Try out Google webmaster to chech the last date when Google bots crawled your blog. Spiders travel through links.

Feedburner provide feeds reading, which such as email subscriptions of feeds (only contents) and reading feeds in readers.

You can propose some sort of links exchange with some friends or similar blogs. It can be a good way to provide alternative content to your readers.

Don't worry about the spider not mapping your blog. It's just a matter of time. (and it won't be too long either)

What's more, you are hosting off blogger. Google owns blogger and your blog should be cached/listed/mapped/any-spidey-related-terms...

Think of it as a spider crawling through the world wide web searching for keywords. Different search engines have their own spiders and they rely on them to do the caching for them.

One trick I read in the net to hasten the spider crawling, is to sign in to yahoo, and at My Yahoo, add content (put your blog url here). Technically we are forcing the spider to crawl into our blog. But obviously you will have to add first your url manually.

I tried it, and my blog was listed in only hours smile.gif
