Called to cancel my Visa Quantum and CS told me it would be cancelled with immediate effect. After a few mins, I logged into my e-banking and saw that it's indeed marked as "Cancelled" under the status. Fast and efficient!

I was also a new cardholder, I didn't activate Visa Quantum and straight called to cancel it. Nothing was charged to me.

I should'nt have activated the Quantum Visa card... oh well. Since I've been charged SST, there's nothing I can do now... Thanks though!

Quantum visa not a bad card, it come in handy when you are doing shopping spree at departmental store like parkson, metro or jusco.

Guys, wanna ask all the sifus here:

If I were to clear my PBB credit card debt before statement date, will it affect my cashback entitlement? The reason I want to clear my PBB credit card earlier is because I want to increase my CL since my CL almost finished due to a recent BT. And apply another BT from the increased CL.

I worried if settle payment for the credit card earlier, the cashback will not be given. Hypothetically, my thinking is that why would banks give me cashback since their profit comes from people making debts with the credit card.

Thanks for any replies

No effect.
Just clean your outstanding to relinquish the CL.

Assuming you're referring to retail outstanding; not BT, installment nor FlexiPay

Thats true... but do you know if AEON/JUSCO voucher counts towards the cashback? Cos the voucher can also be used for grocery shopping...

You need to buy the AEON cash vouchers from the CS counter at departmental section to be eligible for cash back using Quantum Visa.

Buying AEON vouchers is annoying as they asked you to fill this, fill that, sign here, sign there.

Buying vouchers is eligible for cashback. It's as good as a normal purchase in the departmental store

You need PAC for that.
In order to have PAC delivered to your phone, you need to enable it at the nearest branch.
PAC != OTP (TAC) for online.

Update on Shopee issue, this is their reply

Please be informed that the Bank is only acting in the capacity of a Billing Agent for Biller (Merchant). In other words, the billing is done by Merchant and all data pertaining to the transactions made on your Credit Card are from the Merchant not the Card Issuing Bank.

As long as the Merchant had indicated to us that the said transaction is an Online Transaction or E-Commerce Transaction, Cardmember will enjoy 5% Cash Back when using their Quantum MasterCard to make the purchases (capped at RM 30.00 Per Month Per Principal Cardmember).

The email also mentioned that one of the shopee transactions is not indicated as online transaction.... but then the next sentence mentioned they will deduct my VIP Points and credit the cashback to me next month. Is this considered goodwill or what?

Gurus here say that Public Bank treats transactions with One Time Password as Online. If you received the OTP over SMS for this transaction, then they are correcting their mistake. If you did not, then it's goodwill.

Need some help guys,
I bought some items using the Quantum Master on Shopee on 11.11 and one of my transactions received the 5% cashback

However for my mums credit card, there is 3 transactions on Shopee on the same date that did not received the cashback.

After calling to their hotline, they claim that the 3 transactions is listed under e-commerce and no cashback is given.

The CS claim that it depends on how each seller in Shopee is registered, either as e-commerce or online.

Just wanna ask, isnt it that all payment is thru Shopee as they are using the Shopee's payment gateway? So isnt it all transactions will get cashback?

Even my transaction on 10.12 did not get cashback. Dun tell me shopee using diff payment gateway leading to no cashback already? ranting.gif

Yup, received OTP for all transactions, but previously when my mum called for hers, they said e-commerce no cashback. Now the reply email for mine says e-commerce has cashback

That's to prevent money laundering ... track the source ...
At least we pay RM570 for RM600 worth of vouchers (RM30 cashback).
Good for those regular AEON shoppers

Not surely about the weekly cash back campaign.
