Hi all,
Want to ask, recently I applied loan mortgage with PBB. They required me to sign up for credit cards. If I received them and does not activate, do I still need to call up to cancel? And would there be any consequences? Thanks in advance. |

This said, if you applied for some good cards that many had been trying hard to get, keep them. Might not be easy to get public bank cards. To answer your questions, yes, you need to cancel them if you don't want them. Otherwise you risk theft and paying SST. This post has been edited by beLIEve: Feb 15 2019, 10:45 PM |

Yea, that's what I thought too. But I was told that they applied special rate for me by saying that I am gonna apply for their credit cards. Anyway, it's been done.To be precise, I don't think there's such a thing as "required". the 2 products are unrelated. I get confused from some of the replies on this forum. Some says even without activating, I will be charged SST? So, it's like even if I am not using the card, the bank will charge me SST for holding on to a card? Therefore, upon receiving, I must call up to cancel? Erm, will it in any way affect me as like applying for a card but canceling without even using? like kena blacklist or something? *Cause i already had Maybank 2 Cards, and not a heavy user.. Seems like a lot if I had to pay another RM50 SST charge for the additional PBB 2 cards. |

Anyway, it's been done. I doubt they'll give any special rates for your loan in exchange for applying for credit cards. They're giving gifts like <$300 for new customers not taking loan from them. But, can I ask another clarification on the SST? I get confused from some of the replies on this forum. When you receive the cards, you'll see that they're "pre-activated". I don't know blacklist or not. If you only reapply after a few years, I don't think they'll feel that you're messing around. If keep applying and cancelling then maybe yes. My suggestion is, cancel the non-amex card (use the reason SST) and keep one of the public bank cards. Then you have credit cards from 2 banks. Higher total credit limit and 1 bank backup the other. This post has been edited by beLIEve: Feb 15 2019, 11:40 PM |

Debit is rich , credit is poor. simply only my own thought. no offence ya. now i left maybank 2 card mastercard (amex cancelled) and pbb visa card. QUOTE(x88yunkw @ Feb 16 2019, 10:15 AM) for me not good to hold so many cards, if i manageable , i rather use debit cards. There are many rich sharks in this section who are still using CC. Just saying. Don't keep thinking CC is for users to collect debts and use future money. If you know how to play well, people are earning hundreds of cash back every month and some get free flight tickets every few months. What significant benefit will you get from debit cards? Debit is rich , credit is poor. simply only my own thought. no offence ya. now i left maybank 2 card mastercard (amex cancelled) and pbb visa card. Only traditional thinking CC users will have such mindset as yours. Yeah, no offence. |

Coz i ask them if i put RM50k would i get credit limit RM50k they say no ....max cap only RM7k Now my siblings sub me a supplemenntary card also RM65k just that i cant check how much i swipe on the supp card each month need the principle to inform me As for PBB supp to check transactions, I think it was shared few posts earlier. You can open a basic savings account and link your supp card to it. |
