Why FC , FC and just only question about FC? Is that your main concern and not the driving experience?
If seriously FC is your main ultimate concern, then you should be driving a Bezza 1.0L or a 2nd hand Prius. But if still want to discuss about FC between the both cars, I will take the Civic. BMW is for driving experience, not for FC.
Maintenance, well, you are comparing German vs Japanese. Germans will cost more but have longer service interval.

TS. Obviously from the start your main concern was FC. Both car kerb weight differs differently & both car engine also comes from different generation. If you want to compare FC of coz you cannot compare la. Assume E90 MY2008 wheelsize were 17" & not mistaken it is staggered size as well. The cost of tyre alone would kill your wallet. Yet alone you need to have spares for replacing other parts as well cuz most of the parts might need to be replaced after 10 years on the road. QUOTE(fadzly @ May 31 2013, 09:49 AM) lol.. its hard to believe right? u are right, the fc really good at highway.. as far as im concern, 2.0s owner have good FC. i can achieve 5.xl/100km at 100% highway with max speed of 110km/hr. 100% city JB driving around 8.7l/100km. but for 2.5, majority have average fc around 9~11l/100km for city driving but ive seen some 2.5 m6 owner do have good fc at city driving.. but not much.. STKM manage to get 6.3l/100km at 20% highway 80% trunk road Buy above car. Mazda 6 2.0 Very fuel saving if compared to other 2000cc na sedan. Spacious inside compared to 320i, civic 1.8, more fuel saving, newer, more comfortable too.

Its not about longer interval, as continental cars age they require repairs. Like for example my experience with vw and Peugeot, every 2-3 months there is surely a failed part, whether leaking hoses or electrical issues. And every time that happens its gonna cost minimum 2-3k U need to prepare at least 10-15k annual just for repairs for these European marques This post has been edited by Boy96: Nov 20 2018, 02:20 AM

FC? Don’t buy 320i. Get 320d. Full tank 800km easy.
Parts of course costs more. But you get continental build, not Japanese.
