QUOTE(superpc @ Jun 8 2007, 10:52 AM) they gonna lose to intel seriously not rili, and pray that it wont happen. from the info that have been surfaced, barcelona will match intel current core processor. as for the claim by AMD that barcelona will outperform core by 20% or more, i seriously doubt that my beloved AMD |

QUOTE(charge-n-go @ Jun 12 2007, 09:03 AM) Anandtech wrote up something. The poor performance might be due to immature BIOS implementations. My guess wasnt wrong too, the clock scaling is not up to expectation and AMD might delay Barcelona launch. here is the whole story |

i wont give it a damn if this source is from inquirer or fudzilla. this site is reliable and base on this timeframe, we will probably see barcelona out on schedule as well
*usually will be 60-90 days after the server variant, the desktop version will b released. so it will b around mid august for Barcelona showdown |

QUOTE(Are_keem @ Jun 23 2007, 11:36 AM) not to forget biostar with new AM2+ motherboards. its compatible with AM2 too.. the price around US$80 [around rm300]. RM280 to b exact, 1USD = 3.5RM. but i believe it will b higher in malaysia, around RM350. the one thing is, how OClockable will this board is? if it can hit >400HT, then it really will make a serious buy for me. |

QUOTE(Are_keem @ Jun 23 2007, 11:48 AM) the real windwithme is not from malaysia lar. as far as i know, the fastest and highest clockable HT for a K8 amd mobo is from DFI. it can hit >400HT at stable speed. DFI ultra M-II is one good example, but it is not AM2+ |

QUOTE(bryanyeo87 @ Jun 28 2007, 01:37 AM) *must resist the urge for selling of my current cpu and mobo...* and also, Intel measures TDP by measuring the average TDP, while AMD is measuring the max TDP. so, a 95W TDP intel C2D isnt same as a 95W TDP AMD k8.must resist the urge to buy it....and OC the crap out of it but the tdp figures dont look so good, but it sure beats intels and by the way, AMD got memory controller lar |

QUOTE(bryanyeo87 @ Jun 28 2007, 09:33 AM) ehehe, sorry, what i meant was an separate controller/chip and not on cpu, all intel boards got 1 north and 1 south bridge mar...both are chips, chips use power..so figure the power usage =b im nt sure about that, but it is not "why AMD want to measure max", u shuld ask, "why intel dun measure max". IMO, intel dun wan measure max coz that figure is nt very "marketable". but why amd want to measure the[b]max[/] wor...if they measure average, they will definitely beat intel =/ |

QUOTE(bryanyeo87 @ Jul 27 2007, 04:40 PM) well, its all speculation before a big product launch, either its gonna be like the R600 launch, which was over-hyped, like how it was suppose to beat G80's cores, but it wasnt up to expectation. ( yes ati fanboys, i am an ATi and nvidia user, so keep ur flaming to urself) or it could be a beginning to the new K10 Ice-age era pwnage for Intel u need to know that k10 is already in development since b4 they acquire ATI. alot of ppl saying that it will be the same fate as R600. i dun see any reason why it will b. since both development started b4 the acquisition. wats more, R600 isnt a failure product at all. it is target at mid high end market, and it pawns 8800GTS knees down. 1st: It is a big launch for the company(AMD) as they had not introduced any recent new technology(K8 is almost 2yrs old) 2nd: With hypes like this, and if they do actually perform like what they claimed for phenom x4 and x2, what do you think would happen for AMD share prices in the NYSE? Either way it is to keep their share prices from dropping. 3rd: Competition is good for consumers as the prices gets slashed in a price war. 4th: It is all speculation till we see it in the store shelves and in our pc's. Or we get an ES to play around with(hint hint) 2 correct some noob statement: 1st: K8 isnt 2 years old, it is around 4 years old. 2nd: what this thread has to do with share prices? it is Barcelona discussion. u wan share prices, there is a thread called "Finance and business..." and wats more, if K10 really perform wat it claims, AMD can sure claim back alot of it market that it had lost since a year ago. 3rd: this is ur only statement that make sense 4th: non-sense. |

look at this guys.
QUOTE You could play with them until you got bored, but no benchmarking was allowed. You could take pictures, go behind it, trace cables, and generally rearrange the machines on the table until you reached your tolerance level. what? any reason why benchmarking wasnt allowed? it's already near launch time, tomorrow is August. there must be something that prevent AMD from showing the benchmark numbers. |
