Anandtech wrote up something. The poor performance might be due to immature BIOS implementations. My guess wasnt wrong too, the clock scaling is not up to expectation and AMD might delay Barcelona launch.

not to forget biostar with new AM2+ motherboards. its compatible with AM2 too.. the price around US$80 [around rm300].

just wait for the review liao. or ask windwithme to test it

but the tdp figures dont look so good, but it sure beats intels  (intel also nid more power for mobo wut...so power wise..amd might bu using less coz no memory controller to pump watts into mar..)

ehehe, sorry, what i meant was an separate controller/chip and not on cpu, all intel boards got 1 north and 1 south bridge mar...both are chips, chips use power..so figure the power usage =b

Barcelona performance number may not be assumed as same as Phenom coz its using HT 1.0. Also phenom will receive new stepping.

well, its all speculation before a big product launch, either its gonna be like the R600 launch, which was over-hyped, like how it was suppose to beat G80's cores, but it wasnt up to expectation. ( yes ati fanboys, i am an ATi and nvidia user, so keep ur flaming to urself) or it could be a beginning to the new K10 Ice-age era pwnage for Intel

1st: It is a big launch for the company(AMD) as they had not introduced any recent new technology(K8 is almost 2yrs old)

2nd: With hypes like this, and if they do actually perform like what they claimed for phenom x4 and x2, what do you think would happen for AMD share prices in the NYSE? Either way it is to keep their share prices from dropping.

3rd: Competition is good for consumers as the prices gets slashed in a price war.

4th: It is all speculation till we see it in the store shelves and in our pc's. Or we get an ES to play around with(hint hint)

You could play with them until you got bored, but no benchmarking was allowed. You could take pictures, go behind it, trace cables, and generally rearrange the machines on the table until you reached your tolerance level.
