QUOTE(afosz @ Jun 24 2007, 04:01 PM)
But how come there's no news or articles about how good it will perform? I believe Conroe have last time, right?

And I'm freakin' hoping that Kuma will be at least on par with Conroe. Like 1.9GHz can go up to 3.4~3.6GHz maybe. If it does, that's a relief. If not, I'm pretty sure most ppl will opt to Intel instead and AMD is for budget oriented user, just like now biggrin.gif

I dont think with current stepping(B2) can oc that high coz they are struggling even at 2.8GHz. But hope new stepping(probably next year) will increase ocbility.

Its hard to believe in their roadmap now. Anyway mass production of Kuma and Phenom must be in Q1 2008. By that time Intel will mass production of Penryn that might oc higher and they will be hard time for AMD to recover.

We people that using Core architecture have no reason to migrate for AMD if the performance is just on par. Wait until next battle. Nahelem and AMD's 45nm processor.

Anyway, most review sites usually using overall system power consumption to measure power usage. For now performance/watt goes to Intel.

Barcelona performance number may not be assumed as same as Phenom coz its using HT 1.0. Also phenom will receive new stepping.

In term of latency and bandwidth sure Phenom will improve a lot.

Yes, AM2+ proc can be operated in AM2 mobo. It seems AM3 proc also might be compatible to be operated in AM2 mobo but AM2 proc cant operate in AM3 mobo.

I am afraid that even they produce 3GHz Phenom, the overclockability still are not sure. Let say Intel Penryn works ar 3.33GHz and the performance similar to Phenom 3GHz but when oc Penryn sure can get 4GHz easily while Phenom maybe far from possible.

its already outperform c2d at same frequency. But it seems to launch at speed lower than 2.5GHz and overclockability cannot be determined.
