My current company actually wants me to stay & counter offer me. I am in a dilemma now.. I dunno what to do... Can anyone help?

how is the performance bonus there? How's their shift work? How long will it be the training? Can anyone just tell everything about taiwan call centre? plz.... Urgent!!!

is your current job call centre as well? how much is the pay difference?

I have no call centre experience before. I am doing back office processing for bank. The pay they offer me is too hard to resist if compare to my current pay.

hi there...ur in Twn Call Ctr eh??

nowadays u'll go thru approx 1.5mths of training...eliday oso got tests/exams or wateva u wanna call it. u hv to pass the tests/exams eliday cos the marks will be sent to taiwan for 'evaluation' purposes on a daily basis.. passing mark is 80 and above.

after that stage, u'll be on the call floor edi..buddy-ing with the seniors there..i dun know the length of time for buddy-ing but after a short period of time, ur on ur own. all ur calls will be recorded & be given marks by the local soon-to-be-setup quality dept to evaluate all ur calls.  (previously it was handle by taiwan people).

performance bonus?? fat hopes..highest performance bonus so far?? double digit nia...so...go figure..
shift work: 7am-4pm, 8am-5pm,9am-6pm,10am-7pm,11am-8pm,12noon-9pm,1pm-10pm,2pm-11pm,3pm-12am,4pm-1am and not to forget the nite shifts..
ur 'beloved' customers from taiwan?? they suck big time...they'll argue with u over every tiny little issue there...they will threaten to go to the press on wateva they feel is not good for them. they'll sue hsbc..they'll do this, they'll do that...imagine a country whereby senators can fight during menteri-menteri punya meeting...so....go figure urself..

need further info?? gud luck mate..

i js got out from this hell..no more cyberjaya for me. fark this.  shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif  shakehead.gif

What post were u in that time? What kind of training is that? Any languages training? what happen if we fail the test? U managed to get ur bonus before u left?

Are you sure you wanna join ? They have interviews everyday. At least 20 candidates per day. The trainers work non-stop. Orientation is on everyday... The L & D (Learning & Development) staff cannot even take a single day off.. totally cannot take annual leave. So what can u say about their turn over rate?

To choose a correct dept is your priority. To change dept or to have yourself for promotion, the minimum requirement is after 1 year of service. So U must choose carefully.. But if you are a chinese & you can speak chinese, you will most properly end up in taiwan call centre or now I think they have Hong Kong Call Centre oso. It is not easy to survive in call centre. Some cannot tahan the trainer (during training) will wait for the salary & leave... Some plan to try for 1 - 2 months, if beh tahan oso will also leave.. So those who stay are the excellent staff... U can learn a lot of stuff from them. The culture in HDPM is good. It is a great place to work if like it. But do bear in mind that, U work for 9 hrs a day (IN between u got 15 min break X 2 + 1 hr lunch break). The time u spend on the bus could be 2-3 hrs a day. Meaning ... U spend half of your day here. So when u get home, u have no more personal time. Unless U stay near lah.. so no problem... Try to negotiate a good pay that u wont regret.... & Good Luck!!!

actually level 8 is executive..7 assistant manager..6 manager ...and so on...
basic salary will be double up from current each time u get promote to the next level...about allowances it depends which department and process u go...if critical process there will be extra allowance..it is always possible to get salary increment by year..but if u want to nego it should be during the interview..after offer letter come out how to nego lor...
in your case level 8 with 36k i think it is with experience is it?
and also...the level..e.g 8 is just indicator only...and generally called global support executive...but u may work in call center...securities..or other department that available..so many ohh department...depends la what u want to do and what u told the interviewer u want what kind of job...surely they ask u..if u go to centre of excellence ok la..got allowance for that..if normal department..nothing much ar...i think allowance is around 200 monthly..
*
3K/mth for level 8 is considered a lot oledi...

The dept is getting more & more stable. Call volume is getting lesser coz now, HDPM only handle Gold & Classic Card. any call for Platinum Card, just transfer to Taiwan. So easy life lah here...

oh, i m asking on behalf of a female fren, she is dilema in between whether to leave current company ( which in KL center, easy access to places of shopping after ) vs HSBC-CJ, concrete jungle....if the salary part can't overweight the current one so much....then she will stay with current..
*
My personal advice: Better stay where she is now....

@ amir77...ok...the one that ur refering to is actually on UK process. yes, UK process wil have a different remuneration package than other process such as taiwan,HK, US, OZ...but r u sure about the basic salary double up thingie from level 8 to level 7?? cos i think it's abit ridiculous tho to have this kinda "salary double up" thingie going on in HDPM.

as for ur bonus enquiries..quarterly? yes, in UK process oni..others....i dun dink so...cos the UK process is abit different compare to the others..wat's the difference some might ask..well, i dunno.

i was in 2nd floor. i heard rumours that twccc might cease operation end of this year if things dun improve by then tho. and i said " RUMOURS" ...dun quote me on this.
*
Home country save a lot of $$ if they outsource... U just compare Taiwan Salary & Malaysia Salary.. I guess.. could be double? or Triple?? So do you think they wanna take back?? No way!!!!!

babi... Yes, outsider oso can enter MMU/Lim Kok Wing. Got quite some choices like Indian/Malay/Western/Italy/Vege food in MMU, Lim Kok Wing also almost the same, just not as much as MMU.
Wanna ask... Is the experience/knowledge gain from HDPM(back end or call center) useful if wanna join banking industry later?
*
If you have call centre experience, you can ask for higher position in other company, positions like AMO, MO, AVP & so on.... I think it is a bit hard to go back to bank, unless u go back to bank's card center lah..

*
If you asking for GSE level - I guess is RM1700 onwards.... + all allowance when u on board, first year RM1900++

If you asking for AMO, MO level, your salary RM4000 - RM8000. Jobstreet oso got lah.. go & see lah..

But if internal promotion from GSE to AMO, I think the salary cannot more than RM3000. Correct me if I am wrong.
