I applied for GSE position (couldnt remember i first saw it on the star or jobstreet). Sent resume to email. Next day i faxed and just after 3 minutes, I got a call from someone asking me to give my ID Card number and then he asked me to go for an assessment on Thursday 14 Sept 2006.
Went to HSBC in Cyberjaya.
Started at 1pm. 8 persons were there. 4-4 male-female, all indians except me and a Malay lady. I reckoned most of em had cronies who had already worked there as they visited their friends who came for the assessment.
Was briefed about the building n job. THEN I REALISED ITS FOR UK PROCESS only as i thought the job was for worldwide task and was populated by a majority of Indians.
We were grouped into 4 groups of 2. I got paired with an Indian lady.
Assessed by two persons, a man and lady both were Indians.
I was very and extremely nervous and my words that came outta my mouth represented my 'drunkness' and I was like babbling about stupid stuff and stuttering.
After the assessment, I was selected for an interview whereas my 'couple' during assessment wasnt chosen.
Was briefed a bit by the 'organiser' (a guy who guided us for the day from hr dept). He told me the assessors told him that I was quite ok with my accent (which sounds more like brit accent but the guy thought it was american - wot a far cry difference and he couldnt differentiate it), some grammar probs a bit but he said I was shy (I KNOW - SHYNESS KILLS!) while my 'couple' was not chosen due to lack of English proficiency.
I talked to my 'couple'. She said they asked her to go home and wait for another call for a 'lower' level/process - Asia Pacific or other after 2 weeks or so.
Interview started at 4.30pm. Was interviewed by two lovely ladies, Chinese and Indian from Quality department or something like that.
The interview process was more relaxed than the assessment.
The lady (Chinese as the Indian didnt talk but only smiled like 'senyum kerang') asked me wot time I prefer: 4pm-3am wed,thur,fri,sat / 4pm-1am / 6pm-5am sun,mon,tue,wed something like that and i picked 4pm-3am thinking that i could get leave on sunday.
Then I went back home.

Is there a huge chance of me getting hired? :
- I was shy (actually I was nervous more than being shy) during assessment.
+ I was asked of wot shift did i prefer
- I think i was the only outta 8 who was a hi skewl leaver
+ I have some experience
+ I think I had nice conversation with the interviewer.
- I think I talked a lil fast then the standard interview procedure
- Im 20yo afraid if they think im too young to take up the job

Do you guys think I should apply for another round or process? eg Asia Pacific? They said they would call within 10days to inform about my status... today is 18 September 2008 And the worse is I feel lil desperate about this job

theres another ad on the star bout the job - i called and asked if i could go for another interview, but they said i could only come after a month of my previous interview i wonder wots wrong

OMG! Something creepy happened just now! A guy called me and said he was from HSBC, asking me whether I had taken an interview or not. I said 'yea, like ages ago. its something like this...

HSBC: How did u do during the interview?
Me: I think i did pretty bad cuz no one calls me at all.
HSBC: Well, congratulations. U got the job.
Me: OK. (confused) silent.
HSBC: U got the job.
Me: Oh yea? Well that sounds great.
HSBC: I hope you can start on next Monday - (hey newbuyer seems like were gonna b in a same induction lol)
Me: OMG, thats creepy cuz im still working and i expected a one-month notice as i had stated in the application form.
HSBC: Need answer today. Try to resign on the spot. Call me later on.
Me: Hmmm (thinks)... OK ill try wot i can do. (Damn ive got big project on Sunday in Shah Alam n suddenly ive gotta resign - kinda find it creepy to have sudden resignation isnt it?).

Anyone has been called on Monday? 6th Nov 2006.

latest development: as at 12.25pm

I called the guy to accept it n he was so happy that i join the club as if he were the guy who scams people w scratch n win programme lol and asked me how did i find way to resign n i sad i was still discussing it w my manager
he said i gtg to the segara clinic somewhere in ampang park area before 4pm n give the result tomoz before 5pm n take the offer letter on friday.
My manager is arranging some sorta story so that i can go to the clinic lol
i hope by the time people reading this, ive already gone through the med-checkup n pass it all lol

today's report:
went to the appointed clinic after miles of travelling n finding cheap car park n drenched myself in the pouring rain
i arrived, and saw few people (apparently i was the last person to come)
filled in the forms, went to an xray clinic on another building...
soon after the xray was taken, my stomach began to feel sooooo painful (izzit normal? - first time taking an xray)
i think im in danger position cuz i ticked something about my ome of my blood relative which is my grandpa of having diabetis
tomoz ill send the medic letter to hsbc
just wait n see whether i really get the job or its just a hoo haa hoo haa from the guy to me

hey thats really weird cuz:
i gave my current managers number n my bros number in buenos aires.
my manager didnt tell me at all as to whether she received any call from hsbc or not cuz usually she would. n the guy who called me didnt ask me to provide any referral numbers at all n i think i gave wrong number (my bros) to them but amazingly they didnt ask me to provide alternative numbers

OMG, i think i might b considering for another interview (walk-in) as i think i have been rejected to b recruited last minute
Cuz i met the guy who handled the medical checkup at 9am but he asked me to come back at 5pm. And when i came, all that happened was just: The guard asked me to hand in the medical letter n go home!
Why would the guy ask me to come back at 5pm cuz he said, itd b easier so that he can deal w me n go straight home cuz he finished work at 5pm but when i was there, he was nowhere to b found n i was told by the guard 'ok give it to me n u may go home now'
Seems like im not invited to the induction this Mon as ive got no offer letter at all
Lucky i saw on the newspaper bout a walk-in interview this upcoming Fri, i think i should pay a 'visit' again to the place

Yea its true. some people get lower some people get higher depending on their grade. For example C8 or D7 might get 1.6k while D8 gets 1.8k something like that as example.
