Yes and No. HDPM all low level position is called GSE that's why you see same position posting all year long.

Hi all,

I read from page 150 before my phone interview and read from the beginning after confirmation of assessment day which will happen next week. Extracted 20 pages of useful info so thanks for those seniors that contributed ^^

I have some questions regarding the background check, just wanna be sure so that if and if I pass the 3 stages interview and got accepted, will not get dismissed simply because of background check. Anyone who has info on this please help me out, thanks.

I saw that if we cant remember details for previous work, or if it is longer than 5 years, or if it is temporary, then it is best to not include in your resume?

also, I applied through jobstreet so I used a generic jobstreet resume, and I didn't read about the super stringent background checks back then. So they kind of have my resume with all of the experiences mentioned above. So on the assessment day will that same resume be used across interviews with hiring managers and HR? If I deleted those irrelevant or those that could potentially harm my application, and bring an updated resume to them, how am I gonna pass to them and will they compare it with the old one?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I received call from Jobstreet. They offer me position for Customer Service or Admin.

I didn't apply at all this position through Jobstreet. I politely reject it because it's really far from my home

Hi all, I went to their interview on Jun 2015 for AML position. I have gone through all stages of the interview and English assessment. In the end, i was required to take another assessment that test yr IQ and investigation skill.

After two weeks, no news from them. I thought I failed. So i continue with my current job and my manager told me that HSBC called him. But still no news from them on my side. After 4 months of waiting, I have gave up and thought i failed the background check. On 2/10/2015, I received call from HSBC at 9pm saying that I got the job. Wow. I was thinking it takes 4 months for them to process an application. So those who apply and hope to get in. Dont gave up so fast. Just wait for it. I told the HR i need one month notice, so she asked me to report to work on 11/11/2015. I was excited actually and very happy that night and I couldn't sleep..

So there are few questions I will like to ask those senior..

1. She said she will email me and ask me to collect the offer letter on this Fri (9/10/2015), but i still have not receive any and so, i not dare to resign yet. I couldnt call the number that she used to call me. Does anyone of you have the number that I can call so that I can reconfirm that I really get the job before I resign?

2) I am not sure the post that I get. Izzit AML or GSE since it has been 4 months probably AML post has been filled in. She didnt tell me what post I get and I was so happy that I forgot to ask her about it.

3) Must I make a medical check up cause she didnt inform me about that too. I know about medical check up by reading this thread.

4) I can speak and read in Chinese, but only simple writing. Will It affect my allowance?

5) Any advice for newbies like me from senior even i have read the thread probably it has outdated and things has changed?

Thanks for reading my looong post. smile.gif

i just went for the interview last September. two weeks and still no call.

i think i fvcked up the interview coz i cant answer the question "what are the stages of money laundering?".

besides, my CGPA also like garbage.  laugh.gif

now im applying for the payment exec position. got tips for the interview?? what do you think makes them want you??

btw, did you save the number when she called you? i think need to call back that number to ask them.

Like i said you should give them more time to process. Maybe two weeks is not enough for them.

I think do not know the answer is not a big deal unless they are hiring professional. I guess it is more to the way u handle the "dunno how to answer" situation.

Honestly, my cgpa is not very satisfying too... I am at second lower.. Sometimes street smart and confidence is more important.

I am an accounting students and i have 2 years experience in audit and accounting. AML is almost the same with audit. During interview i told them i could apply my knowledge to this post and they did asked how could i apply. I guess payment exec are more to accounting related too. If you are not from accounting, you have to make more research on how payment is done. And yr Maths must be good enough. And you must be details oriented too. Show them that u r the one they looking for. Imagine u r the manager, what kind of person you wan to hire?

And yes, i did save the number. I called but i cant call through.

3. If the old rule still applies (like 2 years ago), you dont have to do it to enjoy the employee benefit.
4. Mostly ability to speak and recognize words? it is still an advantage though
5. Enjoy the ride! please! Cherish the good things and learn from bad things. Congratz you are on board.

When you collect your offer letter, remmber to ask about it! GSE is a job designation, AML is a department, i.e. you are a GSE (level 8 staff) in AML department.

I attended the interview on 20 oct and got the result yesterday. May I know what position you're applying for?
I'm still thinking whether to accept the offer due to the odd working hour.

Hi! Are you currently working in cyberjaya? I was struggling with transportation problem even if I moved there because the working hour they offered me is 6-3pm. Any suggestion? Thanks first ><

2.2? really? what department is that?
it'd be worth if you live near/you live far but using the transport.

rental-wise, maybe you can try to rent a room and get a roommate? sometimes it can be less than rm300.

what, still starting at 2.2k? sigh, HSBC is not progressing over the years...

mind you, HDPM is the lowest entity rank in Malaysia. Your benefit is very different with HBMY and GLT. Yet, you need to work odd hour
