Durian Man App is the first eSIM provider in Malaysia

eSIM provides the same customer experience in terms of network services such as voice call, SMS, mobile data and global roaming as a physical SIM, without using a SIM card

To activate the e-SIM, you have to go to one of the five authorised Mi Stores located at KLCC, Pavilion, Mid Valley, One Utama and IOI City Mall in Putrajaya.

For local data, Durian Man offers the following monthly options:
4GB data + 60 minutes of calls – RM14.15
8GB data + 500 minutes of calls – RM28
16GB data + 1,000 minutes of calls – RM45
128GB data – RM200

There’s also a RM1/day plan with 300MB of data and RM9/week option with 2GB of data.

Durian man just a esim app. The telco at Malaysia is tune talk. Everything same as tunetalk.

I had applied it on my three years old xiaomi phone. It is working, meanwhile I downloaded tunetalk app, can view same account detail.

Must use new number or we can do mnp?

What a “nice” name

So is this really esim where can use without any physical simcard in the phone? Meaning can use this as main line without any other simcard in the phone to "pull" the line? So shocking seing so many of xiaomi phones got esim, even my old redmi note 4 are on the list of supported phones

Yup... Better stick with TuneTalk plan...

- exactly use tunetalk plan (celcom coverage)
- if phone lost, the account cannot be recovered (not as physical sim - can be recovered)
- online registration with mykad + face verification > then, straight away can use
- can choose number using 4 last digit search
- will consume an empty/inactive physical sim slot
- cannot MNP/port must use new offered number
- can use tunetalk app to buy plan also (more plans offered compared to durian man).

No, this esim will use your sim slot. So, in your case, you cannot use additional sim card.

the phone need to be upgrade hardware to enable esim ?currently i'm using MI A2 lite . and the list dont have this model . is that means my phone totally cannot use the app?

Durian man own by China telco. An esim software partner with Malaysia telco tunetalk. It maybe target traveller market. Install durian man, you can load other countries telco esim when you travel without remove sim from phone.

I had tested on mi max first generation (three years old). Working fine.
For non listed phone, u may try but not guaranteed and with your own risk.

I am using 3rd party firmware on my RN4, the app says phone not supported.

When active eSIM at Durian Man app, it will ask you which sim slot to active. Can choose SIM1 or SIM2 slot.
Once selected, it will disable the SIM slot (physical), and then active eSIM.

My phone is mi max first generation, MIUIv9 global.

Just try this on my redmi note 5, sim 1 = yoodo, durian at sim 2 and the sd card on sim 2 slot still usable

didn't realize it, but it has to be virtual telco than can make and receive call lar.

Durian Man is an android app. it dont have website. Think like Virtual MVNO even yoodo tapp and onkyo have website.

China company deal with tune talk to create esim. The esim and app from china company, the plan and local network manage by tune talk.

eSIM need support by phone manufacture, network partner and OS. Probally take 5 years before eSIM replacing nano sim.

i see, thanks for the explanation, eSim is a wild card, telco dun want them as it eat into their profit, buy phone manufacturers want them as consumer can tie to the brand name, but telco can't tie the consumer anymore. lol but for now, eSim is mostly good for smart watches.

got celcom, tune talk, then got.

The account balance keep reducing even I didn't activate the esim. Any user should review your balance from time to time. One month it had reduced rm1.50 without turn on the esim.

My mimax first edition got hybrid dual sim. Let say if i already use sim2 to put simcard and sim1 to put memory card.

I still can use durian man esim or not? Or need to put out the memory card away because i need to use 2 sim card simultaneously.

I’m impressed on how easy it is to setup the esim with the app. Everything is so convenient and fast. I’m also very surprised that xiaomi’s phones has this hidden and no one knew about it until they announced this. Really make those expensive phones look lacking in this area.

Anyone updated the app to the latest version?

The app is crashing after update on my Poco F1.

I dont have xiao mi phones

Just activated my esim on redmi note 4. Its fast, like half an hour after completing, line already activated. The tech are awesome but the implementation by elinking app are horrible. Can't choose number before paying so can't know for sure your fav number is still available or not beforehand. The number chosing steps are also bad because theres no confirmation whatsoever, I've misclicked a wrong number and its auto given to me without any confirmation whatsoever, wasted my rm15 to pay again and rechoose another number.

They're using tunetalk line but gave a whole year of grace period which is awesome. I've subscribed for rm10 per month for 1gb highspeed and 10gb basic data and got a month of active period automatically. Not sure where the active period came from since I've only reload rm15 and it should only came with 20days active period.

You can but not with this durian man/elinking app that uses tunetalk. Xox/onexox just launched their esim service and it should work with the pixel.

u can just change the number in tunetalk apps..

by the way.. mnp from tunetalk sim to esim still cannot.. will try to contact tunetalk helpdesk asking them

Anyone manage to port our from elinking? I've got 2 number and trying to port one number to umobile using umobile online mnp portal. On the form I've chosen tunetalk as the telco to port over since enlinking is using tunetalk but haven't receive the yes/no port out confirmation sms on the elinking number yet. The number is definitely active because I've topup before starting the mnp process.
