Does anyone know any software have shuttle count feature while read the digital photo EXIF info?

Wish to get to know this info because we can forecast the DSLR shuttle count until certain amount of photo, like Canon EOS 10D is around 80000 shot & EOS 30D is around 100000 shot.. drool.gif

Once it almost reach these number, we can be aware on this issue than sent the camera back to service center to replace the shuttle part. Or else, halfway of your photo event will be stop because the camera is faulty... cry.gif Unless we have another 2nd DSLR at the same time... tongue.gif

Please advice, Thanks... icon_question.gif

I am a lil disappointed with you. You're talking about DSLR and you can get your term wrongly spelt. It's shutter count not shuttle count. shakehead.gif

Anyway, to answer your question.

You will need an exif reader.

1st Method
I use IrfanView to view my shutter count with the EXIF Plugin.

I have uploaded both files here.

Try using them.

First install Irfanview then later put the exif.dll file into your Irfanview Plugins folder.

Here's a screenshot on how to use the EXIF reader.

Please download (400kb) http://img507.imageshack.us/img507/6954/cl...rd01exifrk6.jpg

2nd Method

Download the PreviewExtractor.zip

Click on shutter count, load a japeg image and your shutter count will be shown.

3rd Method

Easiest method!

Download Shutterclicks.zip, run the program and select a jpeg image.

Erm, I don't think it's possible to find out the shutter count for SLR film cameras.

And shutter count can't be found on P&S cameras.

the higher range can check.

350D no way man. i did a lot of googling, can't even find any way to check.

EXIF readers, FLICKR info......... all also won't read it correctly. AFAIK have to bring to SC to check.

I called Canon Service Centre regarding this issue and they said they will do the tracking for free at their centre. Its just a program which calculates the shutter count when connected to the camera.

I wonder if there is a way to get hold of this program and deliver them to the masses? tongue.gif
