Say you came back from work and along the way to your home to stop by the grocery store to pick up some stuff. Do you leave your laptop in your car or take it with you ? I heard they have stuff that can detect laptops even in boots right ?

The scanning devices are still doubtful..not any drug addict will have one.if you have dark rear tint like my car, will be safer.

If laptop in sleep mode maybe able to detect. If hibernate or shut down already should be safer. I usually put my laptop inside trunk if I feel the carpark is safe.

Turn off. Put in boot.
No problem.
It happens to those store in boots after arrive mall. Of course people see and will take.
If stored in boots before leaving office then no one will know.

If driving a 3008, can store inside hidden compartment underneath the rear boot. Thief won’t have time to break in and open the hidden compartment unless no one looking.

if i planned in advance to go to the shop after work, i'll put my laptop in the boot before i set off
but if it's an impromptu visit to the shop, I'll take my chances and put it in the boot. i'm poorfag can't afford 3M security tint, boot is harder than glass...

Most of the time the thief would have spotted you moving the laptop bag into the boot or back seat.

Store in boot when leaving office, remove id tags, and should be safe.
For example, they used to target tech MNC employees' cars in Penang because they are all issued laptops. Those people sticking company logos on their car windows, wearing badges down when exiting the car, etc. will probably be targeted.
