Hey guys, I just got a Powershot G7 with a 2.5" LCD. Now, I am very satisfied with the photo quality, but I was wondering if any of you owners have ever seen pinkish lines on the LCD when focusing on bright objects (lightbulbs, bright sky, etc.). I have no problems with the photo output, but I get kind of annoyed by these pinkish lines. Prob is u can see it on video mode.

Is this normal? Or should I return this?

If it happens only when you point to a bright light source, then this should be normal. Your camera CCD is overdosing on photons, so some of it spills over into other parts of the CCD biggrin.gif

Yeah it does happen only when i point it on a bright light source. So I guess its normal? I'm confused though, is it the CCD or the LCD that is at fault here?

This effect is called blooming. Check here and here for a bit more explanation.

Edit: Just search for CCD blooming in your favourite search engine.
